She started going hysterical when she looked into Rust's face though, had me feeling some kind of way, I ain't even gonna lie
What if the dude was wearing a Rust mask.
Fred.

she was reliving the experience because rust brought it back up. she said the guy was a "giant".

I tried to tell people a long ass time ago "The King In Yellow" has no clues regarding this show. That's why I was about the book suddenly flying up Amazon's best seller's list. Aside from the name itself and referencing Cassila's Song this show has zero ties to the play.
The King In Yellow, Carcosa, "black stars" etc. are great material for a creepy cult but the less we know about it the better. There is only vague references to it in the original fiction, anyway. I don't suspect "True Detective" will give it any kind of connective mythology.
But Pizzolatto needs to stop fronting. Acting like "I had no idea people would over analyze the show and look for clues". Breh you name dropped Bierce, Chambers, Lovecraft and cosmic horror several times in various interviews. Don't sit there and act surprised when people read too much into it.
Fred.
I'm gonna miss Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson characters like crazy, man. Idk if they can fill that soon-to-be void for me in season 2. On the other hand they deserve my trustits kinda sad but i also like it..its a good length for someone as A.D.D. as me..gives me some hope that they can make a decent boardwalk empire sendoff
Yup. I said to my girl that him (Rust) asking her if he ("Giant") had scars on his face, and she said "his face", then it seemed like she was "seeing" Rust for the first time, and she started going crazy. It definitely crossed my mind , but I don't wanna believe that shyt, so I'm like

Yeah, it can easily be explained by the repressed memory coming back to the top, but the whole "giant" stuff can also be a result of her being drugged up, and hallucinating a bit.she was reliving the experience because rust brought it back up. she said the guy was a "giant".

Yeah I know, just made me think. I don't think Rust is the "Yellow King" breh.she was reliving the experience because rust brought it back up. she said the guy was a "giant".
I agree with everything you said. It has to be one of the following (or maybe something I'm missing?):
A) He put in all this shyt to deliberately throw everyone off and he's making a point about the "detective's curse" and Marty's monologue in episode one. The audience is the detective.
B) His public comments are meant to purposefully deceive and there will be some connection
C) He's naive and honestly didn't see the reactions coming
Didn't someone else refer to the yellow king as a giant too? can't remember.Yup. He probably did kill Tuttle, given how he reacted when Marty shot that dude in the face, it seems within character
Yeah I know, just made me think. I don't think Rust is the "Yellow King" breh.
He might have killed Tuttle, but he's prolly being set up in regards to all of this
You taking shots at me now? I said I would take a ban if Maggie was innocent in this whole mess, Maggie is not that innocent but one thing I am guessing is that if Marty daughter went missing and that she disappeared because Marty got close to the case more than he let on by finding a clue that proved Rust was on the right track after all. Who knows maybe Rust got active after Maggie reached out to him to find her kid. 10 years is a long time not to solve that case and with his smarts and resources Rust should have. I'm thinking he really had been gone and only came back in 2010 to help them out. That's not the same thing. I said that in one post as a possible theory on how the season could play out.
The "Marty and Rust working together"shyt went on for multiple pages, with several people swearing that's what was happening. Even going so far as to say "I'll take a BAN if I'm wrong!".
Fred.
If we're going to keep all possibilities open... I'll keep that scene noted just in case. A lot of bullshyt would have to take place with these last 2 episodes for that to be a telling scene though.Yup. I said to my girl that him (Rust) asking her if he ("Giant") had scars on his face, and she said "his face", then it seemed like she was "seeing" Rust for the first time, and she started going crazy. Matter of fact, I felt the affair between Rust and Maggie was lazy writing. Very convenient plot-advancing device that was below the standards set forth by the first 5 episodes.
It wasn't the act itself that was lazy, but the character's subsequent unraveling. If he had sex with her because of the nihilistic outlook, and it was an act of rational decision making, it would have been very in-line with the Rust of the previous 5 episodes. Nic took the easy way out on that one, and it was very cliche in my opinion.
yeah man. I just don't know. Rust has become one of my favorite TV characters ever. I'm gonna beI'm gonna miss Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson characters like crazy, man. Idk if they can fill that soon-to-be void for me in season 2. On the other hand they deserve my trust
