You are overreacting , every scene is from the first trailer and from the making of True Detective that is on YouTube , matter of fact in the making video there is a scene of Rust speaking on the case in the future and you see them Marty and Rust drinking a beer in 2012. If I really posted something that is not out there it would be in a tag. If you go to the True Detective Facebook page , they drop a huge gem there about a case. I'm not posting that but it's on Facebook .
Fair enough. You got a link to that video? I've watched most of the behind the scenes stuff but I hadn't seen that one yet.

Those don't look like the same girls. The one circled in the yearbook photo looks significantly prettier.

What's with the different girls in striped shirts, tho? :lupe:

Yeah, I didn't put that circle there.

The girl who got her head photoshopped almost looks like Maggie. Maybe?:yeshrug:

Edit: Actually I think Maggie would have been in her 20's...nevermind.

Anyone else read the theories regarding the "time is a flat circle" quotes by LeDoux and Rust? I read a theory out there (that has been confirmed by the director) that what Rust/LeDoux mean by time being a flat circle and that they are destined to repeat everything they've done over and over again is because they both know that they're characters in a TV show being watched by us the audience and we are the "true detectives." Some heavy metaphysical chit.

MIND = WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Marty went hunting with his father in law and shot a ten point buck.

If the father in law is hunting like that for antlers, he must be putting them somewhere...

In the drawings that they found of the daughter's, she drew a man with a mask on touching a girl with her hands tied behind her back. She couldn't have thought of this on her own.

I tried posting the link but couldn't do it , just look up making of True Detective and inside True Detective on YouTube . They even show Tuttle's church in the clip.

These cats on reddit also have a "no cult" theory:

As Hart said 10 minutes into the series "you got a chapter in those books about jumping to conclusions? You attach an assumption to a piece of evidence, you start to bend the narrative to support it. You prejudice yourself." We as viewers were given some evidence in the first couple of episodes that allude to a cult influence and dutifully look for more clues to support that theory. While we're busy looking for spirals and black stars, I think real evidence is passing us by. Maybe the trick of this show is to not think too hard and just watch.

How many times has Marty said "the detective's curse - the answer is right under your nose"? At least twice, maybe three times?

The short stories from Chambers about the Yellow King is about a fictional play that drives the readers of it insane. I don't think that's insignificant. Cohle's search for the cult has driven him nuts.
