Like I said I been in hella countries with universal healthcare and everyone I know has private insurance. Americans tend to oversimplify the concept is more what I'm calling out
That is fair, my bad. I'm sure folks are coming from a place of frustration, I know I am.

I've spent thousands of dollars on healthcare that didn't heal a damn thing and sometimes made things worse.

There is a mental health crisis and people can't afford to se a Therapist because a lot of them don't take insurance, because insurance wants you to do things their way.

shyt is disgusting to me. I'm debating going private myself, my workplace healthcare is gutter trash.

What is the European model? I don't hear too many complaints across the pond, mostly praise. Issue is any change means people who like making money lose money.

I don't know how it is over there but we have a shortage of doctors and nurses. We fired nurses for not getting the jab. Then went and paid them way more to get them back. We are a stupid country that wastes money like no tomorrow. Our leaders are retards.

It's a flood gates situation where make shyt free then system gets overloaded and it takes forever to get service. People are not tryna be in healthcare like that and USA is not a country where culturally grooming generations for a specific field wil ever happen

Nah USA isn't a dumb country, I'd argue besides Japan and random homogeneous Euro countries, the USA does a good job at shyt when their is financial incentive. We keep the healthcare system how it is because it's profitable

I have never waited nor has any of my family ever.
I went to get an X-Ray just last week waited 15 mins.

My moms has surgery last year...her appointment was 3 weeks out after her doctor appointment.
I dont believe in most of these dying waiting for surgery stories or BS wait times its never happened to me.Alot of that is conserv idiots telling lies online.

I was at St Joes hospital last week in the city,no waiting middle of the afternoon.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Anyone from here knows the wait times are insane and seeing specialists takes a long time unless you are about to die or something. Surgeries, same thing. Nothing close to the speed in the US. Again many must go to clinics because they can't find a family doctor. Unfortunately I deal more than I would like to with healthcare. And yes I've been in many situations where the wait time in the ER is hour and ours and hours. My son had to go to Sick kids...we spent the whole day. That is Canada...specifically Ontario

15 minutes to get an XRay is not reality. I don't need to watch the news or read the paper, I experience it.

Listen, I said they will direct you to the private sector, I have no knowledge of how the billing works afterwards.
But I know people that both had it covered and some where they did not have it covered.

Like if you go private for a blood test you won't get it back.

This is false, I know unionized healthcare workers that went on strike.

And for your other point I know people who got directed to private.
I am telling you this as a fact.

I believe healthcare over there is managed by the province? So Quebec probably does things differently than the rest

No they won't breh literally I have a spreadsheet opened in front of me of a billion dollar hospital finances. I literally report to the vp.

Private blood test :dahell: those private labs like dynacare are covered by Ohip

Nurses and doctors are not legally allowed to strike in Ontario

In Canada, the legal ability for essential staff to strike is provincially regulated. Some provinces, like Ontario, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island, have permanent strike bans for all nurses who perform essential work.

The wait times have been decreased dramatically at most hospitals.

Only in those small hick towns is it really that bad .

Turnover is down and vacancy is down

We have it good, it's not perfect and there's room for improvement but at least we're not dealing with this shyt.

I remember when I was a kid and basically broke my wrist, my dad told me wait a week because you're going back to Canada next week.

The reason there is no better health care system is solely because of republican opposition, they oppose any type of universal government health care system to help the citizens they see that as helping moochers and lazy people and being tyranny, which is asinine
Today we all found out Joe Lieberman was a republican :leon:

I'm in Uganda right now and if you have money it's great.

My dad been waiting 7 months in Canada to see a urologist. He paid 20 cdn and saw one in 30 min

My wife just wanted to do screening for fibroids or cysts paid 30 cdn and in 5 min of arriving got a ultrasound then saw the gynecologist for a consultation

In Canada seeing a specialist takes forever but it's free
