We don't know if he was speeding on purpose or the truck sped up because of the brakes and mechanical failure. The company should be just as liable if not more. They constantly let these dude's pass and can't speak English. Their mostly Latino, but I've seen Africans, Asians, and Russians.

He was likely going down a steep hill and the momentum is hard to stop a vehicle weighing around 100k pounds. The engine is suppose to have a retardant that makes the truck slow down like how cars have sensors when you are about to hit something.

I don’t know this if this was the case but maybe it was his own truck. If so he would’ve need to have a governor. But I don’t know if it was his own truck. But most companies do have governors on there trucks for insurance purposes.

It was his company truck. He wasn't responsible for the maintenence.

The man killed 3-4 ppl due to his recklessness and ignorance. He deserved jail time 25-40 if you asked me but instead got 10 so let him eat those 10 years, he'll live.
