@Matt504 are you doing okay?

Thanks for checking on me. I could be worse, my entire area is flooded and the house took on water damage but I was able to escape and now I'm in a safer area of town with less flooding.

This is incredibly frustrating.

How's everyone else, I'm sure you guys have posted your statuses but I haven't been on here, just trying to catch up on sleep and plan my next moves?

Actually the real reason for the increased flooding is wetland erosion and environmental damage... But that's corporations and businesses killing the earth so that won't ever be fixed
In bold is interesting. There has been several articles talking about how the sprawl is helping Houston flood more.

*forgot to actually bold*

Damn this is terrible Rae

I can gather some change together and send something on Friday if you need anything.

I'm trying to be optimistic. Hopefully it's not as bad as I thought it was last night. I couldn't ask for anything.

so glad that you are safe.
i know what it is to lose everything, but you will rebuild.

Thank you, I'm trying to look at it that way. It's just hard I cried so many times last night waiting to see if we could get out. I just remember grabbing things and trying to get out the door. Thinking I'd never see my house like this again. I feel stupid I just think it was everything going on.

what was your experience during rita?

did u move your stuff upstairs or anything ? where u at now ? u drove through water?

I had folded and bagged clothes shoes etc... then I had a separate bags to leave if we had to rush I was going to leave up stairs. The water rose so fast it was coming in from all sides. We just throw the bags is the highest placed we could. I'm at my parents they never flood her street (knock on wood)

Yes, we were on an overpass then we moved to another location and waiting for day light. We were in a truck too.
