I hate their fear mongering and glee when the worst occurs. I figured if the forecast held we would get a good amount of rain. It was going to flood. That's what happens here. But the fact they had people clearing out shelves, putting a run on gas etc was over the top. They encouraged that panic. I've lived through flooding like this before. It's bad. It's dangerous. And that's why the professionals should be more measured instead of stoking fear. They were looking at a forecast bust about 24 hours ago but when that first band came in SAT morning they were happy to have rain hit the city. It was dead for several hours after that but when the next band came in and stalled (and two others came and merged with that one) you could almost hear the giddiness in their voices.

I haven't had any sleep really. Been in my brothers truck for hours parked. The water was rushing into my house and we got out. I had, had a plan but something's happened and I am so unprepared. I have nothing.

I'm over by Allen Parkway and Buffalo Bayou and it's already looking like a river over here. It's basically Allison all over again. I'm from Houston born and raised and can admit that this city is never really prepared for flooding.

Dam. I was going to suggest you make it to my house but I'm down south closer to Pearland. My only advice is to stay put if you are in a safe place. It was bad last night when I was out so I know it's only getting worse.
