Bruce Pritchard became a little more involved after it starting airing on USA. It was primarily Triple H’s show but there was some input from Bruce/Vince. That’s why instead of slow builds like they did in the past, it turned into rushing storylines and matches to pop ratings which overall hurt the product. You’re right about the PC stuff, but that came later.

From what I've seen in interviews with HBK he said it was just a "certain direction they wanted NXT to go in" edict instead of outright involvement like people think it was. Remember HBK was second to HHH during the USA move and just before his heart issues.

Fun Fact: The canceled last season of the NXT "Game Show" would have featured the likes of Seth Rollins, Big E, Damien Sandow, Sin Cara, Bo Dallas, and Adam Rose.
