Trips NXT Era Aged Like Dogshyt...Respectfully Tho

I'm over here watching Takeover UK and holy shyt this is the most cringeworthy and pretentious shyt since I have seen the movie "Lemon". It dawned on me that dude is a overrated booker and, like Russo, needs a filter (hence why Raw/Smackdown nowadays actually has a balance between his "ROH on a budget" shyt and something for the common casual. I swear you can INSTANTLY tell when Trips Centaur looking ass has complete booking power:

• Buttrock usage
• Everything seems so gray, faded, and soulless
• Wrestlers cutting promos that would make Gedo and Jado shake their heads in disgust
• Corny tropes like "dreams are going to be crushed", "this is my destiny", and other sorts of overcoming the odds babble

Even though Senior Vincentele el Diablo is the antichrist, dude being in the gorilla actually has a good balance of Trips storytelling booking, but Vince's guidance because like it or not, Trips would somehow throat fukk the audience with a Johnny Gargano title reign .

The best thing to happen to NXT is Hicklebottom's cockeyed ass taking over the booking and turned the jawn into PORNXXXT. shyt so raunchy, USA starting to think about bringing back Silk Stalkings.


But that's all I got to say about the subject at hand

I guess I have a bit of a different view on it. It's true that the rock/dingy aesthetic was an eye sore and they did way too many of those "HE was a star in _____" name the company angles where a guy would come in and they'd expect 99% of the audience to know him..

To their credit, that was the base they were playing to. And NXT got over organically.

I think that's why I have fond memories of it because whether you enjoyed he style or not, it was organic. Nobody expected it to take off like that.

Dusty and Regal held it down. The best stories were ripped straight out of the old territory promotions. Cody carried that into AEW.

The women built their characters and got their shine in NXT, the successes of Bayley, Sasha, Becky and Charlotte among others is also a credit to the booking there and also the performers.

I think current NXT has maybe a better balance of indy workrate style and sports entertainment, but the roster isn't quite as talented as it once was.

But if you thought nxt black and gold was fire you gotta be a dubbalo now, shyt was ass since kevin owens showed up.

NXT is NXT. It has it's eras. I will say HBK era is the most fun era hands down and I'm not just saying that because of recency bias.

Fun fact HBK was running NXT UK before Trips almost took a dirt nap. On that note, the UK Takeovers were what they were and I barely watched NXT UK. I'd only tune in for a big Gunther title defense. I couldn't really care enough to watch the UK style outside of that.

not true theres alot of people in nxt right now that look like theyre gonna be the future for real. Specifically the women's division. He got like 5-7 women that if they went to the MR right now would be over. Sol Ruca probably the next big womans wrestler.

NONE of them mofos are/have been over like Enzo & Cass, Alpha Academy, DIY, The Revival were able to get organically in NXT

This is the first Takeover UK I'm watching. This screams Hunter brother.

Actually I think HBK took over during the pandemic so when it came back right after. So it was a span of about a year that he was in charge. So HBK never ran any Takeovers since their last one was going to be right when the pandemic hit. It would have been NXT Takeover: Dublin in April 2020. NXT UK never really recovered from the pandemic and all the layoffs and the Me Too stuff that happened with some of the UK guys. It's basically why it shut down.

Not sure even if NXT Europe will do much of anything even tho HBK said it's still a go from the last time I heard him mention it in an interview.

The only legit thing I hated about NXT since it moved to being developmental was Karrion Kross being champion. Other than that everything else I had some enjoyment out of, well maybe with the exception of "Cool" Kyle O'Reilly's singles run. Good thing that didn't last long.

Point with the heavyweight division, but you got to factor in Hicklebottom's vision of the future. Most of the wrestlers in the title picture actually can cut promos and put on clients. The OG dudes were terrible on the mic and had to rely on segments and workrate to get through the fact that they reek of indie.
