People think he’s smart bc he’s a cac and he speaks well

Like how he stood up for James Robinson when he was being sandbagged last year.

I don’t like the excuses he gets. Fields throws that pick it’s everywhere on twitter rn

He does need a number 1 though. Look TLaw isn’t hitting the ground running but QB in this league is not easy and I consider last year a wash with that incompetent coaching staff. He has a lot to learn and I don’t know if he’ll be a HoF QB but he will have a decent career.
I said it a couple of weeks ago with Lamar Jackson, but better weapons won't change anything if a QBs mechanics are ass. You would just be creating situations where WRs are on the sideline bytching and complaining when they get balls overthrown at them.

Posters on this site love using the WR excuse for young subpar QB play, so I was making a joke that Lawrence should get that same excuse as well. Granted, Daniel Jones is breaking that trend and he has a worse WR core than all of them.

I feel like both scenarios can be true. He definitely has mechanic things to work out, which I think he can. He’s young and physically capable with a college pedigree. I believe that means something. But he needs outside threats. His receiving core isn’t good enough.

In that case, some posters need to keep that same consistency and give Lawrence the benefit out of a doubt as they're doing with other QBs who don't have a #1 receiver either.

I think there was an understanding that he went into a situation that needed work, then he got urban, and that was a disaster and can set you back, he needs to get better, but he just got competent coaching, anyone who’s a bears fan knows we need work, but the perception seems to be it’s all fields fault

In reality year 2 with pederson he may look like a different player, but he's lacking in both the areas you can teach and the areas you can't teach, so even if the progression is there, it may not be enough.

One thing I do think we need is consistency and stability, so he should stay and be in a jags uni for another 3/4 years. Might as well build up everything around him

a mistake many people make is being afraid to cut losses once something fails. if i was jags gm i would be thinking about cutting my losses on this one. i would give him one more year to be fair but knowing jags they will ride it out like they did with blaine gabbert and blake bortles. :russ:
