Got some posters who still don’t believe in Lamar.
Travis can become all pro wr and db and there will be people that still don’t believe.
Hell, you gone have people questioning how tough the NFL actually is, if Hunter is successful playing both sides.
Got Deion and all these former NFL stars co-signing Hunter, saying he’s him.
Deion don’t even talk about Shedeur the way he talks about Hunter.
Deion don’t even mention Shilo.
The same nfl players who didn’t believe in Lamar?

After watching Jeremiah smith, one must ask… why doesn’t Travis look anything like that :wtf:

:mjpls:

So I’ve shared my thoughts on Shaduer. This isn’t personal. When I see shyt that don’t add up I call it out. In no particular order:

1)12.9 yards per catch.

That is Travis’ yards per catch over 2 years. I have never seen a college WR who goes on to be a star NFL WR avg this few yards per catch. Especially in a watered down big 12. Travis was literally playing against future Enterprise managers and Golds gym supervisors. Future star WRs are supposed to dominate if not be otherworldly in college. Don’t take my word for it, career college ypc of various levels of WRs:

Jamar Chase- 19.6
CD Lamb- 19
MHJ- 16.9
Puka- 16.3
Odunze- 15.3
Nabers- 15.9
Zay Flowers- 15.3
BTJ- 14.9
Jaylen waddle- 18.9
Devonta Smith- 16.9
AJ Brown- 15.8
Garret Wilson- 15.5
George Pickens- 15.0
Jahan Dotson 15.1
Justin Jefferson- 14.6
Jordan Addison- 14.3
Ladd McConkey- 14.2

They all clear 14ypc, let alone 13. Travis is obviously an explosive athlete, so my only takeaway is he is not a polished route runner. Like Richard Sherman alluded to, but Travis got defensive and rejected legit criticism …a bit of foreshadowing

2) Ngga you not playing both ways full time. :snoop: NFL players can barely get thru a season. He’s already frail, plus he’d be a walking soft tissue injury, assuming he’s even good enough at both positions. Speaking of which..

3) Tet McMillan is the better WR prospect. Will Johnson is the better DB prospect. There is no value added for playing 2 positions, so why is he rated above both? :wtf:

If Travis is smart he’ll focus on 1 side. I lean toward DB. At WR, I don’t know who his comp is. From the naked eye his elite trait is YAC. I would say contested catch ability, but his lean frame makes that questionable.

On defense, the comps are better and easier. Antonio cromartie, a bigger Deangelo hall, Derek Stingley, Trevon Diggs. Elite athletes with elite ball skills. Any of those dudes could have played WR in college. But they focused on 1 side and benefited. If Travis focuses just at DB he can have that type of career. If he gives part-time focus he’s gonna get cooked
I think his position flex is WHY he's rated so highly. If he can be Top 5-ish at both WR and DB, how good would he be if he just focused on playing DB?

NFL teams (my guess) will rate him more as a DB that can occasionally line up at WR in specific packages. Most DBs can't catch but Travis has the flypaper hands like Diggs, Bland etc.

He's book smart, will tackle in open space and stays out of trouble. GM's will love him. He's bigger than I thought at around 6'0" and 180-ish lbs. Not the best at either WR or DB, but he may have the most upside.

Number of snaps.

Playing 100, 120+ snaps per game...he was better off without the extra weight. In the NFL, he needs to get up to 195 or so, maybe 200 lbs.
He don’t look like he can support 200 pounds that’s like 35 more pounds than what he is now

Isn't the point that he's Different and can't be compared

Let's see what he's capable of. He seems like a guy that will play better as the talent level increases.
This is the type of analysis that has never ever meant anything in the history of football yet every two years people still say it :mjlol:

Travis is different and cannot be compared to any football player over the past 50 years of NFL that has had thousands of the greatest athletes to ever grace the planet because he went both ways in 2024 Pac 12 lmfao

And he “seems like the type of guy who” even though you have never met him, been on the fields with him coached him or seen him do anything against any athlete that is projected to play pro football because of… your feelings and your horoscopes?

What a strong point you make sir

Would be fire if Ravens drafted him
By far this would be the best landing spot for him in the history of landing spots

An uncanny development of DBs in Bmore

And a QB that creates breakaway plays that lessen the load of the WR allowing him space to run freely

Ironically, they just drafted a highly touted freak athlete DB in Nate Wiggins. He ran 4.28. He’s been decent at best and for the first half of the year the ravens pass D was bottom 5

So while I like Travis as a DB prospect instead of WR, Wiggins (and Jeff okudah, and CJ Henderson, etc) are reminders that you’re not just gonna win on athleticism at db. What we don’t know is how good his technique is and how much he learned from Prime. Scouts will let that be known once they review tape the next few months

Like what are even his stats vs top 25 teams? Also The only nfl wr off the top of my head I remember is the Stanford guy and didn’t he go off on him. And idk if he faced any nfl cb prospects
