Being in a multicultural city and finding out where people are from, then telling them how great their country is after a visit is always a trip for the person I’m talking to since most are proud of where they come from. I’ve gotten extremely far in transactions that weren’t going to amount to much in the beginning but went much firther after just a small conversation about a place I visited. The world is a lot smaller than we fully realize

Nah, I like to travel to different locations throughout the globe and seeing different environments. I love little known environmental facts and so on.

This is what I’m talking about. I’ve hit 4 of the 7 continents and traveled all over bringing back that experience as sharing it with people here that used to live there.

I agree with OP when it comes to foreign travel specifically. ... somewhat.

I mean in the USA, we live in a very very large country. We have access to pretty much every environmental biome without a passport, Desert, Forests, Mountains, Beaches,
etc. I don't need to go to Dubai or some touristy destination halfway around the world. So i pretty much only use overseas travel for connecting with my Roots. Visiting whichever country you call your motherland. fukk i need to go to Dubai for? we got casinos and hotels in the desert at home. You passport brehs can even hit up Reno, i think brothels are legal there.

Only thing i can't replicate here is how it feels to be surrounded by an entire country of my own people that look like me, and emerse myself in ancient traditions that my ancestors may have been a part of. any other country i would need a business reason to visit.

used to do a lot of leisure travel. now it's more for business. the dollar being a reserve currency naturally goes a lot further in many parts of the world. tons of opportunities out there, especially in the motherland.

travel is what you make it

Traveling use to be for the rich and well off. Now you have check to check people going in debt to getaway.

Funny how traveling has become so popular amongst the working/broke class. Just as purchasing high-end designer clothing. I find a lot this has become popular at the same rate.

As a person that has been to Spain, France 2x, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and the Caribbean, I'm not jealous or hating just making an observation. Usually when I travel it's go meet someone. I don't get a damn about culture or explore.

Seems most people just travel for to show others how successful they are and/or make other jealous.

If they wasn't able to post pics on IG and FB, they probably wouldn't be going.

I travel to learn new cultures, history, food and important sites/parks.

Love taking scenic pics of castles, mountains etc.

You can easily tell the IG show-offs from those actually interested in learning. Show offs....95% of their pics are selfies. They could be on K2 and they'd take a close in selfie instead of a shot of the Himalayas. Show-offs tend to mostly focus on beaches and maybe jumping off a waterfall. Lots of tropical shyt.

A lot of traveling but they don't learn anything about their destinations. These the folks that go to Cabo and hang at a resort but wouldn't visit Chichen Itza. If they do, all the pics are of them standing in front of it.....and they don't listen at all to the tour guides.

Nice take.

Everybody escapes life in different ways. Drugs, alcohol, TV, social media, and video games is essentially escapism.

Travel is a different physical escape from the weekly grind. Some do it to get away, others to enjoy life. Sometimes a break from life away from home is needed.
:manny:

Constant Traveling is escapism for people who don't know what to do with themselves. Don't have an imagination or what to show off.
Most of these people don't even know about all the cool things in their own city or a just city over.
But see something on social media, now they not paying some bills, borrowing money, or putting other things on hold to go buy an experience for a little bit of time.
Someone is going to do a study on the effect social media has on traveling and the lame tendencies of travelers on vacation.

Cause 10yrs ago these nikkaz ain't have passport or been on a plane In their lives.
And this is why u see all the fckery at the airports now. A bunch of MFers who's never traveled starting to travel
You use to never see any of the fights and arguments before

I don't feel traveling is overrated but I do feel like folks travel just to stunt/ flex on folks.

I take pics/ film for me and my memory banks.:wow:
I feel you, my hard drive has a shyt ton of photos my socials will never see.

One of my guys asked me why I'm not posting anything on social media during our vacation...while we were chilling on the beach... Drinking pineapple rum... Watching the all the baddies run around on the shore... In +28 degree weather

Idk why his mind was on social media when all this was going on
