Capetown has a higher murder rate I believe.

I know nothing about the city, that's the I only posted the doc, cos its all I know about jo burg, but there is the same thing about Philadelphia, so I wouldn't be worried, just be careful out there.
In going Orlando in sept and 2 britidh kids were shot dead there ladt year by a 16 year old, apparently wandered into the wrong neighbourhood, harsh lesson.

Yeah, I think it's whether you have a tolerance for it, I can't be in cold water, but I know people who get in the seas around Britain, so in sure an African sea wouldn't be shyt.

I personally know a few people who visited CT without incident. I did alot of research yesterday but it seems if you have any kind of street smarts you'll be alright. 
alot of the reviewers sound like white people who were looking like dinner with their eyes wife open, who were sometimes visibly drunk or going outside the tourist areas which I have no plans of doing.

I went to CT and Joburg without incident....you'll be aight. I was def in some places I maybe shouldn't have been in Joburg with no problems.
I did both. In Joburg/Kruger I rented a car. I actually drove from Joburg to Kruger Park which is about 5/6 hours to the Park gate then another 2 or 3 to get to the area inside of the park.
In capetown I tried to rent a car but it was some event going on and all they had was manual transmissions and I found out pretty quickly in Joburg I didn't know how to drive one of those. They had to special deliver me an automatic in Joburg because the attendants saw me trying to drive out the lot
If you reserve in advance you can get an automatic no problem but don't just show up hoping to get one.
In capetown since I couldn't get a car I used public transportation. It wasn't that big a deal because things aren't as spread out as they were in Joburg. You can take cabs (expensive) or they have these white Vans that pick up a lot of passengers and they only charge about 50 cents or something. I was told they were dangerous but I didn't want to spend the cab fares. I ended up ok
