But it doesnt sound like it based on that post. Africans don't "come together and ride it out", I dont know where you heard that from. Also the continent has 54 countries and all of them are very different in many aspects. Plus crime is BIG and you will get poked up, short or both if you are a foreigner moving reckless.
We're essentially saying the same thing.

I don't want to broadcast exactly where I am even though I kinda did by mentioning I'm near the Army base.

I'm about to move in a few days though.

I will say that you brehs thinking you blend in are fooling yourselves. Just like we can spot foreign blacks here, they can there but even better.

In africa they're accustomed to tribal stuff and everyone's black there. So they usually know your tribe by face right off bat.

Same way I seldom miss a 1st generation immigrant here...but they're even better at it.

And yes we Americans give off a certain energy abroad. We walk and move different. Hard to explain.

Yea I think it’s the latter too. The set up angle doesn’t make sense to me as I don’t see how they gain from it. But him rebuffing extortion attempts and getting clapped for it does.

I don't know. i think if he were told that he needs to hire certain nikkas "for security" I think he would've done it. I mean his girl would've known if the local mob needs to be paid off.

It's interesting reading y'all saying black Americans stand out. I thought it was the opposite, 'cause when I was in Panama, whenever strangers would talk to me, it was in Spanish.

EDIT: The one chick who knew I was American off top was the morning restaurant manager at the Sortis hotel. Goddamn, she was a gorgeous, tall, beautiful dark-skin black woman. :noah:

Exactly. You have to get with locals and expats to learn how to move. Although in Africa it's more about you getting scammed not robbed.

That being said the rapper JT the Bigga Figga is in Burkina Faso (I think) and he said some repat breh ran up on some Army dudes thinking that he wouldn't be touched ( I understand why he thought that Africans show such deference to foreigners it looks like their low key c00ning) anyway he talked crazy to them and they clapped him.

King Obtunda in Uganda got beat up by the cops for being out after curfew too.

I’ve moved around Kingston Jam in flip flops and white tshirt with a nondescript hat and no one new I was a foreigner, same went for any hood I was in in different countries.. Even Brazil I was up in the Favela chillin, Lagos and Senegal no issues.. You got to move discrete in these places.. Americans always going abroad and be thinking shyt is sweet
When I went to Guyana I was bumming it. No need to get stuck up out of town.

RIP to the brother though.

They don't know english breh. They speak to me in Spanish too. Granted if you're not in a tourist area and no one is paying attention to you. It may not immediately register that you're ADOS but if they look at how you walk and your mannerisms they can tell.

A good situational awareness experiment. Look at random people in your city and sopt the difference in how they move.

How was Guyana? I low key want to go but I heard the infrastructure wasn't up to par. I heard similar things about Belize
It's very nice people wise. I stayed in Georgetown. There are very few cacs there and the scenery is beautiful. I loved it. If you go check out the Zoo.

I need to start doing my research. I'm right near there.

I will say there's a lot of random birds here in the city. They're the kind you see when people go out birdwatching in the bush. They say that Colombia is the most genetical diverse place animal wise other than Brazil in the western Hemisphere.

I agree on being situationally aware. I've been an observer since childhood, so maybe I naturally fit in.

I'm talking about every day people in everyday situations. Like this one guy and I both got head turned by this baaad chick and we looked at each other and started laughing and made small talk. He definitely figured out after we spoke I wasn't Panamanian, though.

LOL the bytches run the Taxi game on you. Right now there's a "lockdown" (nikkas still go out) but chick's aren't as pressed as in Medellin and Cartegena so although some nikkas tried to push bytches on me, I only met one girl that works at a juice stand down here.
