Sorry - its a long post

Yes - getting to know the area you choose to move to is important.
We cruised for years trying to find some place in the Caribbean we wanted to retire to.
For some reason we decided on Cozumel Mexico
its got about 100,000 people but 30,000 are expats
so many expats from Texas there, there is a development named Corpus Christie.
a good portion of the locals speak English.
after we stopped cruising we would go down there twice a year and talk with the expats , locals and business owners.
In the end,
An older YT business owner from Texas hooked us up with a real estate broker ( agents in the states) , contacts , banks, etc . He also helped us get local prices, instead of gringo prices.
I was his first customer years ago .
Just walked off a cruise ship, saw some bummy looking dude holding a sign for a cigar bar shop with free margaritas and walked on in.
Got to know him and his family over the years and he was like , you might as well just move here , so we were like fukk it.
Hardly any violence on the island, the pandemic has hit it hard though, but they are not acting up, yet ... still keeping an eye out on that .
and hell, he said pick a spot wherever you want , its that safe.
so we finally have a spot picked out and in the process to buy, and its actually 5 blocks from the dude I am talking about.
its not touristy and very local, it helps to speak a little Spanish where we picked.
I asked him why didn't he move to the ritzy part of the island , he was like if I wanted to move around more YT people , he would have just moved to another neighborhood in Texas.
Plus, we wanted the local experience as well.
Hope to finish sometime this summer. Hoping to go sign in July/August
We picked a spot that was being renovated, the person that owns it bought it and gutted it and before they got a chance to get started , they got a job on the mainland and decided to sell
we got it for local prices . it'll take a few years to reno and i do not think we are going to rent it out ( the wife is being funny)

But it took us years to do this , build a network of people and learn the layout of the area.
i mean you can do it faster than us ( it took us a decade ) , but you have to have some people there working with you for it to go smooth.

And no flexxing . period. hell I Iook homeless sometimes, I lost 75 pounds and scared to buy new clothes ( may get big again), HA!

A buddy of mine that stays at all inclusives, was in the DR , and said one time there was this middle aged CAC couple from Florida flossing hard down there . looking like Mr. & Mrs T on shopping excursions.
One day the concierge, just told them that for their own safety , they could not leave the resort for the rest of their stay ( 2 weeks) , the wolves got the scent & their taxi driver had been offered money to "drop them off" somewhere special . But he was a legit dude and let the hotel know. the resort offered to move them to another part of the island to a sister resort , but they just went home.

This is how you move abroad.

you type this proudly like it’s some kinda sin for a Black man to want to live in a country where he’s not the minority.

but one thing we all know is that white people dont have these problems. they go thru the worlds toughest hoods and barrios and all them third world dudes do to white people is show em their teeth.

white people can go buy big beautiful villas and land by the hectare and be perfectly fine, but if we do it we’re a target.

people with this kinda mentality deserve to be slaves and live their lives dirt poor in slums

Cacs get caught slipping all the time :gucci:

By the way I was saying that Africans do come together and ride it out. Kenya is going through it right now, but nikkas ain't getting robbed like that. There's a breh on here who was boots on the ground a couple of months ago and wasn't pressed at all.

You're again falling victim to this "Africa is a monolith" mentality. Kenya is only but one of 54 countries. And lets be real, most foreigners stay in safe places relative to the rest the country whenever they visit. Majority of them will never get the opportunity to touch down in the trenches so its easy to think its safe.

The breh you're referring to probably stayed in one part of Kenya the entire time. There are plenty of documentaries showing how fukked up the crime rate is in Kenya.

Rip to him and no disrespect but breh was moving goofy as shyt
To the point it’s hard to make sense how some one with that much gray in his beard and enough business know how to have $200k to drop was that gullible
You gotta film yourself for safety and you still going thru with a transaction that large :what:

on the topic of blending in.....you don’t .
Been to multiple Latin countries with black populations and it’s normally segregated. Like it’s blacks in Costa Rica but they normally live on the east coast and in big cities like San Jose they live in specific areas, so you just walking in certain areas and eating at certain spots can be a sign you ain’t local
In Europe I had situation where police walked right pass me to harass some African brehs who presumably lived there. same happened to me in Bangkok, literally walked thru a police raid on Nigerians and somehow they knew I wasn’t with them
From our walk , to the cut of our clothes, to the sharpness of your haircut they might be able to tell

You put the goods away and just live among the people. Its common knowledge even in the States. Why would you wear all that jewelry in a place that barely see dollars circulating :francis:

Was not a robbery, it was a hit and sounds like some shady business:

Which part of Africa is that where people tell tribes by face? You nikkas stay making up duck tales.
:stopitslime:

Actually I do you one better.

I was in the army. In the army you meet brehs from all over. I used be able to look at a breh space, hairstyle, build, the way he walk, and of course how he talk and tell where he was from with about 80% accuracy.

And this is us in America where we are a amalgamation. Imagine in africa where/when there isn't so much mixing?

Some of yall nikkas are walking licks based on these posts

Some of y'all are damn near arrogant about how loose you move then think nikkas can't spot your American ass from a mile away:mjlol:

The fact that some of you can't believe walks vary across cultures says a lot

If you're a doofy nikka in the States you're still a doofy nikka abroad. Just like the wolves here can tell, the wolves there can too.

Plus they have game! The only thing spare most tourists is the heat that will come isn't worth it. They know that if you aren't moving like the mob you don't have a gun. You're a lick waiting to happen.

Stay yall ass' in them designated areas!
