Americans always think just cause you identify as black you can just setup shop anywhere else in the world where there are black people. Big mistake, right there!

When you are not a local, you will ALWAYS stand out if people take a look at you for more than 5 seconds or so, no matter how much you try and blend in.

The other aspect is brehs thinking they can come setup businesses and buy land in a foreign country thinking its gonna go smooth. You will always be required to pay "taxes" for not being a local and pay people to have your back and must make sure you do not steal business/customers from anyone else or else you will make enemies very quickly.

If at any moment you are seen as a threat, its curtains for you

Dude giving 250k to a dude he said he doesn't understand or trust. Smh

Exactly don't fight. Those motorcycle chain snachers are armed. They're being "nice" by not showing you the heat.

He looked normal to me, dude wasn’t stepping out in a three piece

Just wearing normal ass clothes
It's extremely fukked up in Colombia right now. Because it's more developed than Africa (and the fact that they have Narcos) being broke hits different. In Africa they just come together and ride it out here they jack people not just foriegners but everyone. When they say don't wear jewelery they mean Don't wear anything Not even a high end G-Shock watch.

It's on another level here. A regular tourist on his first trip wouldn't understand unless properly laced by local veteran expats.

Also he announced his restuarant on a youtube channel. I know he wanted to drum up business but he should've had security on deck before he did that.

I'm staying in an regular degular Airbnb now and there's paid guards patrolling this street there's dudes patrolling all the streets not to mention the armed guards in the gated condos, and I'm near the army base. If that doesn't tell you the reputation of this place I don't know what will.

He just bought a crib and the spot In the chick's name There's legal reasons why he did that, but he could've hit up a lawyer and kept shyt in his name but that would've required patience. Everything is backed up in Covid.

Huge Facts. especially the bolded. You're gonna have to cut a local in unless you deal with nothing but gringoes. And yes you stand out even to Black people. They dress different. They have different mannerisms. I remember I was walking in the hood in Marselle France and those Old Black lady said Hey American buy some fruit from me.

At the time I had no idea how she could tell I was american from across the street.

It’s either someone he was in business with or local crime lords that wanted to extort him for setting up shop without paying his dues. I’m leaning towards the latter. You know locals felt some type of way about the way he was moving. Taking their women, homes, business opportunities. He made that video about his safety because he was obviously already getting threats.

Yea I think it’s the latter too. The set up angle doesn’t make sense to me as I don’t see how they gain from it. But him rebuffing extortion attempts and getting clapped for it does.

My dude I'm in Cali right now.
But it doesnt sound like it based on that post. Africans don't "come together and ride it out", I dont know where you heard that from. Also the continent has 54 countries and all of them are very different in many aspects. Plus crime is BIG and you will get poked up, short or both if you are a foreigner moving reckless.

When in Rome...

If you go to any 3rd world country, dress like the locals. Flip flops, basketball shorts and a wife beater.
They don't dress like that out here. That would snitch that you're a tourist.

You might get away with some crocs in your neighborhood, but it's mainly button ups and pants here. It's not as hot as on the coast (baranqullia) they might dress differently up there.

I got friends talking about leaving America and that’s cool. I’m just like make sure it’s not a place like this:picard:

I've been saying since the Ace is live thread that a lot of dudes finance their traveling lifestyle off of other brehs. I'm an expat myself but I'm not gonna tell brehs to drop eveything and run down here like everything is sweet down here.

If you move correctly and get gamed up you'll be ok anywhere.
