I will say there's a lot of random birds here in the city. They're the kind you see when people go out birdwatching in the bush. They say that Colombia is the most genetical diverse place animal wise other than Brazil in the western Hemisphere.

We're staying in an Airbnb outside of Bogotá and we had 2 guys deliver firewood yesterday. I greeted both dudes at the gate in spanish and while opening it, the older guy asked "are you american"? My colombian homegirl tells me their rioting right now in columbia, especially cartegena.

Columbia appears to be a bit unstable right now. I suggest people hold off on traveling there for the time being.

From my personal experience, locals can spot a gringo by body language, accent and mannerism. They can also smell fear if you show fear.

I almost got stabbed in Liberia (got folks over there). For some black shades. My advice is to dress casual, don't say much and just keep it moving.

Befriend some locals and learn about the culture.

Don't carry a lot of cash. Always exchange for the local currency.

As for women: act like a lick, you'll get treated like a lick. You need to vet the chick before she rolls with you. You never know these intentions until shyt hits the fan!
