The local cops said they have video of them trying to snatch his chain but he resisted and they struggled before they shot him. I think they wanted it to look like they wanted his chain and was gonna kill him anyway. 2 shots to the head is professional execution. He had on a white shirt with the chain tucked inside. There’s no way they’re driving past on a motorcycle and notice it.

This story is just all around corrupt. I also heard witnesses say the men just pulled up and killed him while other people say they struggled. I don’t think she set him up either. He would have been a cash cow for her. Free place to stay and a booming business bringing in income. I think the tenants and the seller were involved no question. I wish we could hear from the family.

Video I just watched had him asking something about going up on the rent when he got the property. That right there was sure to put a target on his back for sure. Them folks was not going to be cool with a foreigner coming down there and putting pressure on them financially.
One of the tenants he evicted was family to the seller and the restaurant downstairs it seemed like they were still operating and said he was gonna straight up kick them out to put his restaurant there.
I don't know what the policy is now but I know there was a time where it was technically "illegal" to evict tenants in England. When I was told this it didn't make sense to me and it still doesn't. But there were a lot of squatters in London and I heard things about "squatter's rights"
I'm sure a London Bruv will correct me, but my point is I don't understand the legal and cultural issues in London and I don't understand them in Colombia.

You might be right. We're staying in an Airbnb outside of Bogotá and we had 2 guys deliver firewood yesterday. I greeted both dudes at the gate in spanish and while opening it, the older guy asked "are you american"? I'm like alright here we go again. I'm wearing shorts and a T shirt. I give up trying to fit in over here.

Depends what you're coming for. Between the curfew and people protesting, the night life sucks. it's dangerous to be out after dark. I've been posted up in La Calera the past few days but I'm headed back to the main city today.
Same here in Cali although my neighborhood is cool, It's upscale but not exclusive so it wasn't targeted. But there were road blocks and damn near everything was closed.
