I used to call nikkas who went to Latin America over Africa c00ns, but Although Living in the Westlands in Nairobi is just like living in Problado in Colombia I can see why a breh would choose Latin America. In Africa people are really Po' if they're poor. Again there's places in Kenya that will make you forget you're in Kenya but the poor people get shytted on on a different level than in Colombia. Right now there's floods in Kenya because delevopers just cut down trees and throw up cheap ass houses in areas with shytty storm drains that weren't designed for that many people to live in. Add in lack of public trash pick up and next ting you know you have rivers in the streets.
nikkas in Colombia is burning shyt down because of Health Care reform. But in Kenya nobody is going to specifically target you. I mean anybody can get got but nikkas in Africa ain't robbing you as you check in to one of the most exclusive high rises in the city. A bytch isn't gonna give you :devil's breath" and make you go to the ATM several times and clean you out and leave you for dead like they do Medellin. nikkas ain't gonna kill you because you're slow to give up your wallet like they would in Medellin.
Facts. I'm African. When I went to Colombia I was expecting something similar and it's not. Damn near everywhere in Colombia has proper roads. The favelas look more like Africa but at least there's a vast city nearby with decent infrastructure, roads, public transport etc. Like the poverty, isn't as vast or as deep. So your shyt might get stolen because people are very poor in Africa.
But most African countries are not dangerous like Colombia. There's not nearly as much drugs and weapons.
As you say, there's negatives and positives about choosing either location for a holiday or to move.
What they do have in common obviously is people trying to run you for your money. Africa and Asia it's bribery and scam. Lies and deceit. In the main. In the Caribbean or South America, the threat of violence is significant. It's not all the same "3rd world".
