I agree that we should never have gone with a rookie kicker during this championship window but bringing in some unsigned kicker going into the playoffs isn’t the move either imo. There’s no studs out there waiting to be signed just middle of the road guys or worse.

Robbie Gould can still come out of retirement and kick. At the very least they should be talking to him. Should have after the Browns game if we are real about it

The current situation on SNF is the stuff I'm terrified of with Moody as the kicker.

Up 7, you have a 4&1 with the opponent has no more time outs. You kick and it's two possessions and the game is over. Or you go for it and ice it, but if you fail you give the opp good field position plus momentum. And if you miss the kick, well....

55 yard fg is no gimme even with good kickers

we havent been great on short yardage downs, but in that situation you dial up a brock sneak and live with it

I meant the situation more than the yardage. A 55 yd FG is a too long, I agree.

I mean to be fair to @Eric Brooks we been competitive minus one season since 2019 on this current run which is more than most teams can say. If not for a rash of injuries we might have been competitive in '20 as well. I do think we can put a team together and be in the mix even with some attrition.

That's the thing though, this squad isn't just "in the mix", we are a top 2 contender and that's not gonna be the case for much longer.
