all 23 million miles of useful land
born days were lit, knowing your parents were taking you to TOYS R US to get anything you want.
I even continued that tradition with my 2 seeds.

So close the retail storefronts and go online, basically what you are suggesting is completely change the business. It might as well be a different company at that point because you just closed all your stores, fired 95% of your employees, and you still have the problem of people not buying your product at a sustainable level to fulfill prior contract obligations. .

Best Buy is doing a "decent" job at it because people still buy TVs, phones, and other electronics. Once kids reach a certain age they would rather have a tablet than a toy, that's a big problem for a store that only sells toys.

I disagree. Toy R Us should have opened seasonally. Toy R Us skated through like 5 generations of gaming consoles and managed to stay afloat. That wasn't the issue. The issue is, well (A) Nobody needs a year round toy store and (B) Why the fukk were they so expensive. If they weren't forced to be open year round, they could have survived. They could have been cheaper. and also nothing beats getting what you want then and there. No matter how convinient Amazon is. Which is why gamestop will never go anywhere.

Bruh you seem to be missing the point that Amazon doesn't just sell toys in fact toys and baby products make up approximately 2% of Amazon's sales. Meanwhile toys and baby products make up 100% of TRU sales. When people stop buying toys that drop in revenue is going to adversely affect one company more than the other.

Nobody is thriving by primarily selling toys, it's not a TRU problem it's a consumer shift problem.

Your solution to go online and be Amazon isn't even a solution that's primarily applicable in this case, you could literally name any brick and morter company and say "close all your stores, fire all your front line employees, and beat Amazon to the punch". Even with that being said you still have a problem if people stop buying the product you sell.

Bruh stop debating him. He's guilty of the same thing he's accusing Toys R Us of...

People are outgrowing toys earlier now. Simply shifting your model to online wouldn't have saved Toys R Us.

Toys R Us needed to diversify and they couldn't.

People think Amazon was some kind of genius business model, when they almost succumbed to the dotcom bubble too. They are mainly a product of timing, diversifying, and outsurviving the other businesses that did the same exact thing.

There’s no reason for Blockbuster to not have their own movie streaming platform they dropped the ball big time

Blockbuster CEO was offered to buy Netflix for $50M and he declined. They were doomed from that point.
I know he is sick. Especially knowing the creator of Netflix started it out of anger for being charged late fees by Blockbuster :mjlol:

Fam that’s why there are companies out there that get paid well to forcast these trends like i said Jeff Bazos saw that people were embracing the internet that’s why he started amazon he discovered this with simple research on his own even if toys r us discovered it at the same time they could’ve beaten him to the punch ...people were embracing the net as early as 2000 places like toys r us could’ve been switching their business model up

Again you talking like big corporations paid attention to start UPS or people with visionary ideas back then.
They did not at all,....

They still kinda do not to this day.

THIS IS NOT BESOS FAULT. THESE STORES FAILED TO ADAPT. NOBODY REMEMBERS WHEN AMAZON TRIED PLAYING NICE AND THEY TRIED TO MUSCLE THEM OUT OF THE GAME.

AMAZON EVEN LET THEM SELL THEIR PRODUCT ON THE MARKETPLACE. THE REACTION? fukk AMAZON. LET'S MAKE OR OWN MARKETPLACE. SHOULD'VE CAME ON BOARD LIKE THE MOM AND POP SHOPS.

Exactly. Motherfukkas blame Bezos for everything as if package deliveries started in the 2000s. People counted Amazon our way back when and now they are a monster. But traditional big box spots took too long to adapt and failed to turn their stores into destinations like Apple does. As big as these stores are they needed to make people feel like they wanted to shop in person instead of wait like a dog at the door for the delivery man to shop up with their box

Honestly, they've lasted like 10 years longer than they should have, haven't step foot in a TRU store in years.

Regardless, im gonna miss them:

Birthdays :ohlawd:
The days when you got good grades on your report card:whew:
Graduation:win:
Seeing mom come in with that big ass Toys R Us bag so you know you got something major for Christmas.:banderas:

Game stop almost died and every software store usually died too.

The problem is people really don't have any money or jobs.
So, the companies are not marketing anything to anyone and are not producing a real profit. Just a fake profit which comes from these companies cutting pay role and posting a fake profit based on revenue. Which creates low morale and a trickle down to the entire consumer market place. As there is no capital and no no money like there was when the internet sprung up. To make the old money guard ruin the new money internet guard on purpose and here we are. The problem is selfish ass baby boomers and their druggie us made issues and weirdness deflected all their issues on everyone else. Then hoarded all the money for themselves in the madness. The baby boomers who made all these bullshyt problems are the issue to be honest.
