Y'all just won the title last year, Masai deserves a pass. There was no stars to sign this year, nor are they in '21 now that Giannis is gone. There's a salary floor, so the Raps have to spend money.

Treadmill it out the next year or two, before the inevitable rebuild.

Maybe Paskal rebuilds his value to All Star level, and y'all can ship him for some decent picks/young players

He doesnt deserve a pass,he punted this entire free agency for something thats not available now,you wouldnt get a mulligan for that in any other line of work.

Not the end of the world but also shouldn’t have put all our eggs in the Giannis basket. There better be a good plan B. A really good one. Or we let Ibaka walk for nothing.

I wanted to go after C Wood,now we look stupid...We passed over alot of players for nothing.

Were not setup properly and yes im gonna bash our FO for that.

We could have signed players that we could use in a potential Harden trade...we cant do the Harden trade cuz our roster would be depleted with him on it...

We could have re signed Ibaka,went after C Wood/Gallinari all could have been used as trade bait later on if the Giannis thing fell thru.Instead we signed scraps and have nobody that we can use as bait for bigger fish...all because we were certain he was going to FA next year.

Only reason we let Ibaka walk is because of 2021 FA...Masai gambled and lost and when you do that you deserve criticism.


Clearly we could have signed front court players,remember this we were 1 minute away from an ECF last year...thats completely gone now because of the gamble Masai took...

Masai misread the tea leaves....thinking he was the favorite.If he signed a Gallo or Bogdanovic now you have an asset you could have packaged with a Van Vleet and another player to get in on Harden...Now you dont have the roataional players to get in on that anymore and ur basically stuck.

When a President or GM misreads a situation to there own teams detriment theyre not above criticism...If it was truly Giannis or bust then Masai 's a fukkn idiot because he wasnt in the drivers seat...and if he didnt have a plan B then he deserves all the smoke hes gonna get...

My fear has played out exactly as i thought it would,he would punt on everything this year and be left with his pants down when Giannis re signs.

Hedged everything on Giannis with no legitimate PLan B theres nowhere else to go..Everyone else is locked in,theres no disgruntled stars gonna be available.
Even worse we dont have a package to get it done because we were hedging hard in one direction (Giannis)

I hear we have FA still next year but whos available ? Gobert ? Oladipo ? Nobody that moves the needle.We sacrificed 2 years of flexibility for nothing.

We have Baynes and Boucher as our bigs now because we sacrificed this year for next.We overpaid Boucher for 2 years and paid Len/Bembry and let Ibaka walk for next year...


I feel for some of you that only follow the Raptors and are not NBA fans because this year wont be fun to watch.

We're not completely screwed, just continue to draft and develop well and make key trades. We can still be a decent FA destination, just not with Premier/Elite players (American born ones anyway)

Continue to build a winning culture so that we're at least a consideration with the growing number of Canadian and Toronto players currently (and entering) the League.
