Nah I rather he stay. After we lived through the likes of Grunwald, Babcock and Colangelo, I don't trust this ownership hiring anyone else. If it wasn't because of Tim Leiweke, they wouldn't have hired Masai. They probably would've done another white nepotism hire like Babcock and Colangelo on their own
When Masai was hired, they were expected to tank for Wiggins/Jabari Parker. I actually wanna see if this is the year they'll finally bottom out now that Giannis is gone, and the FA class is so much weaker now.
They cant bottom out in 1 year theres too much talent...it will take a few years to even get there and MAsai is not going to do that hes never done that....Were back in the DeRozan Lowry Casey era...too good to tank not good enough to win in the playoffs...As much as Masai gambled on the Kawhi trade and won he lost letting Ibaka leave and betting on next year...these events officially make the Blue Jays more interesting now,i was fighting that notion.Cant deny it now,they are the contenders and the Raptors are now the middle...
I said this before FA you should take swings NOW and and not hope on Giannis just in case,you can always move contracts and players next year if need by.
We let guys get signed and low balled Ibaka to get to next year and now its no longer there...huge miscalculation,this is why i refrain from jumping on the Masai cult bandwagon...and why im not part of the must re sign him at all costs legion....If not for Kawhi being disgruntled and available what has Masai done in 7 years that we cant live without ?? Next years free agency was suppsed to be his defining moment and now its gone...I see nikkas on twitter saying Masai must be re signed at all costs ???? Even after bumbling 2021 ?

It's gonna be tough unless someone gets injured. We have a lot middle of the road talent here.
But knowing the shyt the Raps threw out there for the first 15-16 years, I rather take a few years to get to rebuild and draft a star with Masai/Bobby than hire whatever white analytic darling/good ol white boy son of a former executive is out there
If MAsai cant get a FA signed 2 years off a title he dont need to be here cuz hes doing nothing that nobody else cant do...Masai fumbled this off season badly and its clear now that his 2021 is now gone...he deserves to get criticized for it.
We won a championship 2 years ago and were likely a 5-6 seed now and alot worse than we were 2 years ago...and we are talent wise in a worse position than every other playoff team in the East...We have over 100 million tied up in 3rd tier players who arent gonna get us past the 2nd round,the fact were still tied into a 34 yr old PG as our best player is annoying as fukk..but i should give him a pass ?
I dont care if Masai is gone after this season
