You fukkin right it is. Am I supposed to be scared or change my opinion based on that smiley? One of my favorite Scorsese flicks and definitely one of his best if not his most controversial. I love the idea of taking a story and a character that everyone feels they know and putting some humanity in it. And there's no bad performances in it. I could've put another movie there based on the decade because there was no wrong answer in my mind but that movie stays with me.
:yeshrug:Just surprised that's all. I could have said the same thing about Ferris Buller, but I seen a lot of people mentioning it. Big > imo, but that's just cause I found FBDO to be very overrated and I think it gets a bit boring towards the end (minus the car crash scene). I think I seen Last Temptation once and I didn't like it.

:obama:At lease you put Escape From NY up there. Kurt Russell owned the 80's.

Well ferris makes the list because it's near and dear to my heart and the one John Hughes movie where I saw a bit of myself lol. I love the breakfast club but ferris was the one where I said "oh, that's me" and its influence is felt : saved by the bell, Bart Simpson, even Wayne and Garth a bit. And just being able to nail down that voice of what that kid is like and this interesting dynamic between he and his sister and he and the principal and how the principal is doing the right thing in the movie the whole damn time but you're on the side of this smart ass who just wants to have a day to himself. I fukk with it.

Last temptation I think you should give another shot. Grant it, I probably look more fondly on it because of my religion and all that but I still think it's a powerful film and clearly a personal one for Scorsese in terms of reconciliation and juxtaposition with his faith.

Big is dope to me but the older I get the more I'm drawn to ferris. Which again is completely arrogant and self serving but meh. Ultimately a movie is about how it makes you feel and what resonates and ferris is one of my favorites. I've only got two movie posters in my room. One is from Russia with love and the other is ferris

I got Ferris over big too. Ferris is just a fun movie but I don't agree with Rooney being seen as doing the right thing. He basically left his duties at school to hunt down Bueller, snuck into his house, and was really just trying way too hard. Ferris was just having fun for the most part. We all can relate to that.

Oh he goes about t the wrong way but he's right in the sense that this kid shouldn't be absent 9x from school, missing tests, etc. he went way too far with it but he's in the right. I'm saying that as a kid who was in trouble in high school more than enough times lol.

:whew:I mean the boy hacked into the school and changed his attendance and made a fake call impersonating someone else. Not to mention involving 2 other students in his shenanigans. Principal Rooney had no choice. Get sonned by your student or catch him. He wasn't bout to lay down without a fight.

Until Jennifer Grey stepped in.:ahh:

:deadmanny: but here was the difference: I was a straight A student, honor roll, graduate with honors all that shyt. I'm friends with a couple of my high school teachers because they were young af when they started teaching at my school and when we talk now, they tell me and my boys how upset the main disciplinarian was at us and the shyt I used to pull. Cursed my name in a faculty morning meeting and said I walk around the school like my shyt don't stink:russ: but he couldnt touch me because it was petty crimes and my grades were out of this world. they had no choice but to let me :cook:
