I feel as though I saw the devil doesn't get enough love. That movie left a effect on me way after it was over, the villian and the fukkery he cause was top notch, and it was a realistic spin on the Revenge flick. This and a bittersweet life is 2 of my favorite movies ever.
Totally agree. When the movie ended I literally stay seated for like 5 minutes just so my brain could process what I just saw and I could recover from the relentless fukkery :mjlol:

I Saw the Devil doesn't get half the love it deserves. Unfortunately, they are making an American version that will of course bring more acclaim to the OG but the remake will still be pure swamp sewage like the Oldboy remake.
Americans should really learn to appreciate OG movies and avoid remaking em. Nothing better than to enjoy the raw product :ahh:

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
1. Joker (TDK)
2. Anton Chigurh (No Country)
3. Jang Kyung-Chul (I saw the Devil)
4. John Doe (Se7en)
5. Hannibal Lecter (Lambs)
6. Percy Wetmore (The Green Mile), mention to Eugene Tooms from the same actor
7. Yeong-min (The Chaser)
8. Pennywise (It)
9. Scar (The Lion King)
10. Judge Doom (Roger Rabbit)

Jigsaw, Hands Landa, Alonzo Harris were also pretty good for me.

Only breh who mentioned Jang Kyung-chul from "I saw the Devil", I'm disappointed... :beli: Apart from this movie being GOAT status, that villain was all type of sadistic but also one bad mofo. From SoKo movies, I also have a (more than) honorable mention to Yeong-min the villain from "The Chaser" who's close to top Jang on the villainy scale. I hated him so much at the end of the movie. :lolbron:

:banderas: I totally forgot about Pennywise. That clown had me shook after reading the book, and it was brought to life terrifyingly well by the movie.

Alright, after going through this great thread, I decided instead of making a list of top 10 film villains, I'm going to make a list of popular villains listed that should not be mentioned in this thread. First: a look at the original post in the thread

Top film villains only. No tv this time. And if you're including any villain who's been adapted for tv, make sure you're putting them on this list for their film portrayals.

Animation, comic book flicks, horror flicks, etc it's all fair game. If you feel like Freddy Krueger is the greatest villain? Great. Lex luthor? Cool. Biff tannen or Sid from toy story? Also dope.

Lists gotta be must be should be numbered. None of this "in no specific order" stuff

So get on it people.

Edit: No antiheroes. Straight villains. Meaning in a movie, they are the antagonists

Now, let's get to the villains who aren't really villains

1. Hannibal Lecter
Basically, unless you're referring to the film Hannibal, he wasn't really the main antagonist. Silence of the Lambs he was there to assist Clarice in finding Buffalo Bill....and actually did so. Because he was a bad person, and a great character, doesn't give him the cache to be a Top Film Villain.
2. Tony Montana
Once again, not the main antagonist because as the main character he was really the protagonist. Not to mention that even though he was supposedly "the bad guy" there was a badder guy in Alex Sosa. If you remember what caused the climax ending that began with the famous conversation between Sosa and Montana ("I told you a long time ago not to fukk me..."), it was in response to Montana's unwillingness to kill a man's wife and children. No, Montana was clearly the antihero to Sosa's villain.
3. Any Villain in Kill Bill Not Named Bill
Pretty self-explanatory. Bill is the antagonist for both films because they were originally supposed to be one film. As such, even when the films discuss the individual sub-bosses past, and how they came to be, the overarching theme is Bea's (re)vengeance against Bill. None of the Deadly Vipers would have been killed had it not been for the "Snake Charmer" Bill. He's the villain through and through

@kp404 and i already tried that breh lol. But i disagree on your bill posts. A great villain doesn't have to be the boss of all bosses. Red Grant in From Russia With Love is clearly a sub boss for Rosa Klebb and SPECTRE but he's still a great villain. Villainy isn't resigned to being just the boss because if that's the case, Vader probably shouldn't be on anyone's list

I agree with this. As long as the person is a villain, meaning an antagonist to the protagonist of the film, then cool.

In Silence of the Lambs, they tell you outright he's the one "bad guy" that shouldn't be dealt with, even while he's in a cage. So, yes, even though Bill was the main character Starling was after, it was made wholly apparent that Lecter was above them all. Bill was the "main antagonist", only due to the nature of Starling's job. Lecter was her personal antagonist, and by the end of the film, every single law enforcement agency in the states. You could swap Buffalo Bill with some random ass serial killer and it wouldn't matter in the slightest. It doesn't matter that Lecter was "helping" her or not: he's still an evil fukk.

This is also discounting the fact that he's in other films eating people and feeding people to themselves.

Same shyt with Magneto. Breh was in Days of Future Past helping, only because he had no choice. Everyone died in the future. You've got a whole trilogy where he was about to kill off every non-mutant person on Earth (a.k.a. committing genocide).

Bill's sub-bosses in Kill Bill Vol 1-2, might not have been the main villains, but they sure as hell were in that church killing and beating the fukk out of those random innocent people, for no reason other than Bill being pissy and simpin over Queen B.

Most of the villains posted are actual villains. I think the love for anti-heroes and romanticizing of certain films like Scarface, are causing some character details to get overlooked.

:salute: I think there's a lot of people missing those details because they have a personal affinity for them. Like regardless of how dope you think the joker is or how funny you think he is he's clearly a villain.
