Actually the bar scene was not a slow part. You probably missed when he went outside near the river.. It really set the tone for how important winning the fight on the beach was.

The fight scenes could have been way better. Those aliens moved so violently that there was really no rhyme or reason in attacking th3m. This hurt the film from becoming goat like.

That was the whole point. There was no way for any human to fight them straight up without knowing where they were going to move ahead of time

I always try to get a seat at least 20mins before it starts( I've always had the fear of getting a bad seat ) which leaves me time to go take a piss just in case.

I blame the marketing more than tom not being as popular anymore. They needed to have hinted at a romance or something just to trick the white girls that are into that.
