What do you mean by "today's generation?"
Does this group include: Lupe Fiasco, Jay Electronica, Joey Bada$$, Ab-Soul, Earl Sweatshirt, Los, Cassidy, Big K.R.I.T.. Yelawolf, Meek Mill, Drake, J. Cole, Stalley, Ar-Ab, Schoolboy Q, Clear Soul Forces, Kooley High, Elzhi, Action Bronson, Danny Brown, Capital STEEZ, Kendrick Lamar, and about 30 others?
Because you're not listening to music if you don't see them as "great" rappers.

imo the abundance of wackness today is mainly attributable to a lack of energy/identity

there's still a few decent rappers in the underground, but the general standards aint even comparable

Stop crying.

Obviously this is all my opinion. I'm a poster on a forum just like you.

Sensitive, mediocre nikkas like you always deflect and are obsessed with "my right to say something" as opposed to "let's debate his actual argument".

a) I don't give a fukk about how unpopular my opinions are
b) maybe if your generation's rappers had more balls to be themselves and risk being unpopular, this game would be fixed OVERNIGHT
c) You're incorrect because people fukk with my opinion. Check below.

I've never heard a mindblowing rhyme from either of them nikkas. Can you post one or two mindblowing lines from each?

I've engaged in debates with you before, and I know exactly how you operate. You come up with a very polarizing or alienating point of view (which is not wrong in and of itself), but then proceed to personally and PREEMPTIVELY attack those who disagree with you in your opening argument, like you did in this thread. Afterwards, you use your subjective categorization of the quality of their opinions on the matter as evidence to support your point. When in reality, you haven't proven anything except that you think you're for some reason more qualified than others to have an opinion. It's a cheap and tired tactic. Also, my pointing out that you put yourself on this false pedestal isn't an obsession my friend, it's an observation that is very accurate. But continue to think that I'm mediocre when every time you and I engage in a discussion you're the one playing defense.

Lastly, your opinion being unpopular doesn't make it wrong. It's your tendency to categorize anyone who agrees with you as "real" and anyone who doesn't as somehow below you that made me point out how unpopular your opinions are generally. And if by "people" you mean a few scattered, shaky agreements to your stance here and there, then sure, people fukk with your opinion.

lol

If you forever compare every single rapper to Tupac, Biggie, Nas, and Jay-z you are going to come up short. Not because those guys aren't great but because they will never be those rappers. Lebron will NEVER be Magic or Michael. Shaq never was Bill Russell. These rappers will never be those rappers. That doesn't mean they are not making good or great music to people.

On top of that I see a lot of old heads complaing that music now doesn't give them that same feeling as they were younger. When you are older and you are trying to advance your career, pay your bills, and take care of your family a song that comes in that time in your life isn't going to hype you up the same as one you might have been listening to say summer of sophomore year when you were hitting parties, getting high, fukking girls, and enjoying a more worry free life.

Sadly I spend more time paying bills to Lupe Fiasco or sitting in dead stopped pulling my hair out traffic listening to Kendrick. Its not the same as ditching class and listening to Redman after scraping weed money together among a few friends.

or you're just in love with mediocre acts.

Every one of those cats is considerably wack and at best mediocre.

Keep listing names of mediocre/trash rappers. The sad thing is that I've heard tracks from every single rapper you've ever mentioned with the exception of Dark-Lo (just googled him: Ar-Ab's man... nevermind. wont even bother).

All of them WEAK......

Underachievers had some nice beats while they were trying to ride Rocky's vibe. Before they fell off tho: I bumped TADED and Root of All Evil for a while.
