The problem with Punk's first half of his reign was more about WWE not knowing how to book a face champion (for the nth time). If Punk main evented those PPVs I don't see what changes from his reign and his status. besides him feeling more happy. He was still a major part on TV, he just couldn't scape shytty booking that went beyond card placement.

The champ going on as the curtain jerker on pay per view while cena faces Kane in throwaway matches and every other match they found an excuse to headline over Punk was a huge problem. AJ styles had this problem too, as he closed 0 shows during his second time as champ and I’m guessing he closed none during his first. They still can’t book a face for shyt either. Batista can triple h 2005 and Jeff Hardy vs punk in 2009 are 2 of maybe 4-5 times I recall them booking a face properly or something close to it since Vince bought WCW.
