If people's personal beliefs make so upset that you turn to insulting them and belittling them for being happy and content with their own lives, maybe you need a little faith in your life.

Religious entitlement again.

It's okay to share your beliefs if you are religious, but if you're not religious and you share your beliefs you are insulting and belittling religious people.

Got it.

Typical religious circumventing of the argument.

Posters challenge the merits of the logical position on praying for selfish and arbitrary things and having their selfish wishes met from god, religious people turn the issue to "respecting faith".

:what:

So you haven't been calling people stupid all thread, and you didn't just call that dude a bytch?

You can give your views without insulting and belittling, plenty of people did in this thread. But a few of you seem more concerned with trashing the op and other religious people, instead of merely letting your own views be known.

That's exactly what I mean. Your so concerned with trashing the op that you didn't read what he said. He didn't pray for any selfish things. He prayed for guidance. If you actually wanted to converse and build then you would have payed attention to that. But you'd rather just keep attacking what you think is wrong with religion.

Can you go and quote where I exactly called people stupid? I can't seem to find it.

I called that c*nt a bytch because he called me an a$$hole and moron:

1)Tirade? What are you even talking about nikka? You reaching for shyt now

2)Not once did i defend OP, go back and read my posts so you can make some semblance of an argument here because youre really just talking out of your ass. At least Blake had the decency to defend what he was saying. Youre coming off as an arrogant a$$hole who doesnt like it when peole challenge you. Which is eveidenced by your posts in this forum anyway. So im not surprised.

3)Sounds like an opinion

4)Nobody being soft either. Since when do people throw insults when debating? Sounds like desperate measures

Wrong again jackass. I came in here to pose a question. Maybe if you werent on a crusade and actually read what I was posting youd know that.

So wait, i caught feelings but youre in here posting paragraphs? fukk youre a moron. I could care less about anybodys stance. I asked a simple question as to why YOU care.

Blake answered with a legit answer, because hes a decent dude. You on the other hand roll up in the thread with your anti God gun blazing.

How many times do i have to say im not even religious for you to understand? Its like you have a response at the ready to copy and paste someone for this debate purposes.

Im done replying to you because you cant even comprehend a single point in a post without getting your panties in a bunch.

But you see what you want to see.

By the grase of God not only did he answer my prayers but he gave me an option to pick wich job I want to be employed by. I started today with nothing on my plate and ended it with two plates to pick from. I know we have a lot of people that make fun of Christianity on this forum but I wanted to share an instance when I felt the Lord was working for me and answered a prayer.

Try again.

First off, congratulations. I really mean that.

But I'm glad that God answered your prayer in finding a job and helping Tebow win football games instead of keeping millions of children from dying of starvation and disease.

Okay, a miracle that can be explained by advancement in medicine.

Can you show me a miracle where a person born without limbs grew all his limbs back after praying? Can you show me a miracle where a child born without their full brain eventually grew a full one after prayer?

No?

Okay.

I'm glad God is helping you find a job in the first world while children are digging through garbage to survive.

Real good God.

Stop trying to circumvent the argument because you can't argue the logic.

Think about what you are saying as a theist. You are actively worshiping a God that feels that you getting employed for currency, a human concept that has only existed on this planet for at the most a few thousands of years in human existence, takes priority of assisting dying babies.

Think about that for one second. How is that NOT an insult to your God?

Where did I call him stupid? Where did I say he shouldn't believe in God?

Most of your posts have been very condescending and belittling to the op and religious people in general. This goes beyond expressing your own views. It's the same as a religious person running around acting like everyone else is going to hell.
Try again.
He asked for guidance and he feels that god gave him a choice. How is that "selfish"?

So. Cal
Yall still trying to prove my faith in God is wrong. Can't you guys understand that nothing you post or any of your hypotheticals will make me lose my faith or second guess the Lord.

I shared an experience I had on a forum that has religion as one of its topics of discussion. Its sad that some of you feel the need to put me down for those beliefs. Never did I insult or try and push my religion on anyone and when asked questions about why I answered with truthful experiences that has happened to me.

Anyone that's saying that I'm selfish for praying to God to help me follow the path he has set for me is ridicules. If you know anything about the Faith you would know pray and a relationship with God is a must. Who are you to tell God which prayers are worth answer or not?

Again I'm sharing my experience with the Lord. If you disagree that's fine but to say my prayer was selfish and anything but a sincere practice and expression of my faith is untrue and unfounded.

Did he say he prayed to god and god answered his prayer directly? What did he pray for? For whom did he pray for? Sounds like it's selfish to me. His choice was between two jobs, that supposedly God supplied to him.

Again, it's only condescending and belittling because it's a non-theist challenging a theist. This happens throughout our society because religious people feel a sense of entitlement. Society views it perfectly acceptable for a religious person to share their beliefs out in the open, even if it goes against the belief of others, but when that gets reciprocated, all of sudden we are being condescending and belittling. Go somewhere else with that shyt.

I'm implying that the logic behind this type of prayer and confirmation bias is non-existent. No one here has refuted that yet, and I suspect it won't be refuted.

That's because people are assuming faith from the beginning and then trying to justify it with logic in retrospect... it's impossible. I would respect it if people just said it was faith and left it at that, instead of coming up with illogical attempts at rationalization, or patronizing comments about God's mysteriousness.

That's exactly what it is. You're like one of those scorned women who feel like men have been treating them unfairly, so they go out of their way to shyt on men all day. Your responses had nothing to do with the op, but they were about your own feelings about religion in America. You used his story, to rally against your preconceived notion about who religious people are.

I agree. But that's not what you said at first. You came in with the condescending comments, and basically laughed at the op for his views.
