Wouldn't go past the first round, It would be just as bad as CM punk stepping into the octagon. All respect to Floyd his name will resonate 50 years from now as another Rocky Marciano. He won't be considered the greatest but he will be up there as a fighter nobody could figure out.
However I feel this is a big moment for MMA. The fact that someone who has never boxed a professional bout was competitive and landed more shots than Manny Pac will tilt younger people who saw this fight towards following MMA more than boxing.
Floyd would likely get rag dolled in the UFC and its pretty obvious judging by how Conor was able to move him and toss him when locked up. None of Floyd's boxing defense would matter in a full fledged fight unless he literally runs away.
This is that moment that moves the needle for the UFC, you may not realize it but believe this is that moment.
R.I.P Boxing 1681-2017
Exactly and if money was boring Floyd it would go all 12 rounds.
I think MMA comes out a bigger winner last night and really as long as Conor didn't get dominated and Jo's UFC had the most to gain from this.
Had Conor got a lucky shot or pulled off the upset boxing demise would have happened much sooner. But now it will be a slow generational death
These dudes about to spend the next few years on some Ghost and Tommy shyt
looks like they're both happy robbing the General Audience
one dude won and break the record for his 50 i don't even know why it's considered
the other dude won the Mayweather sweepstake from welfare few years ago
This is just your shyt unsubstantiated opinion. Obviously I don't agree.
Now you're just putting words in Floyd's mouth to try and bolster your personal opinion. Weak.
Of course eventually if he continues to fight on and on he'll decline to the point where he can't compete. This is captain obvious shyt. You're saying that he's already at that point and I'm saying he doesn't seem to be there yet.
Most of Floyd fights go like that.
A bet of when you are going to knock someone out is a bet on yourself.N1gga aint no casino letting a pro boxer walk in vs a novice and say here's 500k, Im gonna ko him in the 10th. And the fbi will most certainly be interested in that. Now if u bet on yourself to win is 1 thing, but thats different.
Why the hell would floyd call out any of those fighters?Name a top fighter at 154 that Floyd ever fought, without a catchweight?
Can't think of one can you? There is a reason for that. And there have been good Jr. MWs: Lara, Charlos, Trout, and Andrade to name a few. Never called our there names never tried to fight them and we know why.
Floyd said it himself ringside on a Showtime card he was promoting that he doesn't want to fight actual boxers, he only wanted to fight McGregor.
Floyd knows he is at the point were against real high level boxers, with more athleticism and more energy he wouldn't be able to fight and fight how he wants to fight anymore. Which is why he retired and only came back for this ridiculous exhibition with a 300 mil payday
I tried to explain this to casuals. Boxing power is a different animal. Conor learned last night that MMA power is not boxing power in terms of giving and receiving. I mean c'mon, a 40 year old, rusty Floyd was visibly affecting Conor with JABS. Meanwhile, Floyd walked through Conor's hardest punches. I remember maybe three punches Conor landed that made Floyd pause in the entire fight.the difference is floyd actually fought pacquiao with respect. if he would have went head first into manny with no foot movement at all, he gets knocked out. he did that with conor because he didn't respect his boxing skill whatsoever. dude was barely fazed by any of the shyt conor landed. face showed no marks of damage at all. conor may got power in MMA, but in boxing his shyt is barely average.
Conor did better than most expected. Granted, Floyd was also fighting a more aggressive style because he wanted to give fans the KO. He was more prone to getting hit.
This wasn't a joke fight. It was a legitimate fight that took technique and skill to win. It wasn't a clown show like most people had anticipated.
