Tinashe doesn't have the range of Janet's catalog at all. Where are Tinashe's slow jams?? Where are her anthems?? Where is her "Control"?

Ciara has more slow jams and "anthems" then Tinashe has. Lol.


Now with all that said i loved her debut album though.

anybody can do slow jams breh. case in point Ciara. If Ciara whisper singing ass can do it, anybody could if they wanted. Doesn't mean you're a good singer. The best way to tell how good a singer is, is by accepella. With no music, no production, no beat, just singing. I just want to hear one of Janet's accepella, just one.

From a TECHNICAL perspective - Janet Jackson is the most over-rated artist in black music.

There's tons of better singers, tons of better dancers and she didn't write or produce the majority of her work.

Before the neg train comes - she made 110% of her talent. As an artist, she knew her strengths and weaknesses and put together the strongest package possible. She go the best production and songwriting to match the mood/feeling of her vocals with the best choreography and videos she could. As a package, an entertainer, artist, she's unfukkwitable. But the actual raw musical talent.. was not significan. As for her vocal style, she pretty much laid the blueprint for it.

Therefore every pretty, adequate singing, good dancing black female artist is going to get that comparison. Aaliyah was the closest in terms of getting the full package correct. Ciara had a spark when she started but didn't have the vision. Tinashe up next, let's see what she do with it. Personally, I don't see it. Her singles don't show her lane correctly.
