Time to revisit the Alien movies (one month until Prometheus)

When is Prometheus coming out in the US anyway? I just saw it this evening I ain't gonna say too much so as not to spoil it for y'all but I had no idea it was supposed to have any link with the Alien franchise, I had only seen like half of a trailer last week.
Anyway, gotta say I was kind of disappointed. Actors are meh, too many answers are left unanswered (get ready for the sequel...s?), the action is ok but not all that and sometimes makes no damn sense, and I just felt that there was much more to be done with the general idea, which in itself is quite dope. Crew goes out looking for our CREATORS and it feels like another trip into space, so to speak.
Do the species of "Aliens" (From the previous films) make an appearance or are they completely MIA in this film?
and I figured it had something to do with that just based of the film title alone @ the bolded

I answer under the spoiler tag so as not to give away too much info. Only open if you dont mind spoilers about Prometheus.
You get serious hints about them because throughout the movie creatures appear that, if they don't exactly look like Alien, are kind of like the same type of creatures. Mind you, at that point I STILL didn't know there was any other link with the Alien franchise, so I was like "this isn't very original" 
...the link is never explicit, and it is only at the very end that an "Alien" appears, after a series of gross happenings. So you don't know what happens with that Alien, since it's the end of the movie.
I gotta admit, I hope the sequel(s) to this prequel will be more thought out because the link with Alien is still tenuous at best and there's a TON of unanswered questions. Kind of frustrating movie IMO.

said "Alien" at the end is the same species from the previous films tho right? That's all I wanna know...

Many people (myself included) like the first one more. It's about 50/50.
Yea I ain't mean to make it seem like it was a small percentage or somethin..but yea...the first one had an overall better vibe IMO..

Been watching a lot of old sci fi movies lately. The first 2 alien movies, total recall, and robocop. Effects look so bad and dated. Alien movies were kinda boring to me til the end. *puts on flame suit*
