Because the neptunes biggest hits were mainly pop and rap. You would have to go into their more obscure cuts to find that legit "r&b" sound or close to it.

N*E*R*D's In Search Of and Seeing Sounds have aged really well IMO. And if they haven't aged well, then how come producers like Steve Lacy, Matt Martians, Tyler The Creator and Christian Rich are constantly pumping out similar beats?

Both have aged about the same to me (mostly well), however Timbos 90s beats have aged better than his mid to late 00s techno timmy phase.

Baaically this,ive been saying this about both these producers and nikkas threw pebbles because of they names....."you cant say that about neptines"....majority of those early 2000s keyboard computer beats sound like nonsense and trash today.....the onky thing timeless in hiphop is bass and soul....neptunes couldnt master either so they catalogue is in shambles.....and the shyt that did have bass they smothered that with a variety of goofy ass sounds....shyt is trash mane,and timb wasnt much better in that era,Dirt Off Your Shoulder is still probaly top 3 most embarrasing beats i ever heard in my life
