So you not gonna address this OP?
Have you tried looking at city & federal positions?
I would also be wary of anything on Craigslist, Monster, Careerbuilder, etc. A lot of bs jobs are on those sites.
My best bet has always been to go directly to the company's website & apply through their. And you might have to network more, especially with people who are in the same fields as you. That's one thing I wish I would've done more of while I was in school.
You sound fairly young, so if you have no ties(kids, long-term gf/wife, people you have to take care of), I'd suggest looking all over country for openings(I heard the job market in Upsate NY is popping). Sure you may have to leave your home, but being broke and staying in a dry area is
That or teach English overseas.
NYC Housing is hiring, if you live there, you should easily get something with them,
I'm trying to avoid city or federal positions honestly. I feel with the stuff that's out there about me online (even though I have no criminal record), even if I did get hired I would probably get fired eventually. And honestly, I just don't think I could stand that work environment and the people in it. I don't think that's a good fit for me...even though I'm just about having a job now as a means to an end.
My roommates have told me that I should just go in person to places and pass out resumes. It works for them. For me? No. I've tried it. They probably have looked at me afterwards like "who are you?" and just throw my resume out in the trash.
Research your employers before you have to pay them.
Try to be more assertive/proactive, call them.
Had an interview last week and I was told I got this job with a paralegal...and I was supposed to start today. Yet today, I have received no input via phone or internet from them.
Sorry for making a thread like this but I am so mad I could literally just break everything in my bedroom right now. It seems my roommates have no problems finding jobs with honest employers that won't jerk them, but everytime I find a job where I think it might be profitable/fruitful it just ends up being a) a scam (worked for a security company that promised work placement but only took $400 from me for three useless certifications, worked for a timeshare company answering phones and only made $240 total in comision) b) complete BS (I worked for a "marketing company" selling escos door to door only to get jerked by my bosses and had to fight it out with them just to get $220).
I've searched damn near everywhere for a job and no one wants to hire me. fukk! I hate this sh!t.
I must agree with the white piece of shyt. Why the fukk didn't u go? U ain't a go-getter. U should if been in that office an hour early.
you know good and well you can't call an employer. they damn near make finding contact #'s impossible.
best bet is to reach out to former co-workers, friends, fam and see if they can hook u up if their jobs are hiring. get on that linked in.
I have ugksam or whatever on ignore. I was just wondering about this comment.
I already said this. I skyped with one of the managers of the paralegal firm last week. They confirmed me for the job and said that one of the division managers would speak to me either on phone, e-mail, or skype with further informatio (which includes where the office I needed to go was). I never received a phone call, e-mail, or skype...so, how do I know where to go or what office to go to if I don't have that information?
