There are a lot of unnecessary gay jokes in those movies, so I'd say describing them as having outdated attitudes is very much on pointim in disbelief has anyone else seen this? Was on the screen that shows film disclaimer like language, nudity, etc. it was the first sentence.
im watching Beverly Hills Cop marathon on Paramount and this was said. I watch movies all the time ive never seen this disclaimer.
have we really got to this point where we need to pre apologize for language in 80s and 90s R rated movies
They're not as old, but when I watch pulp fiction in the next few days I'll let you know if the warning is on thereThey gonna put apologies on for Quentin Tarantino movies too then?

Exactly, but shouldn't that just go without saying, and be understood by everyone watching? In Paramount's defense, the 80s was like 40 years ago, shyt that was no big deal then is a big deal now.
I don't understand why people don't just understand and accept that people (and therefore art) are products of their environment based on the time they existed. It seems so obvious as to sound stupid when you say it, and yet you really do have to say this to people now days. What was once progressive or forward-thinking for its time might seem behind-the-times now. But that's how life works.I mean, it's definitely dumb as fukk but I told my cousins to watch the Godfather and these bytchass niccaz called me up like "man did you hear what they said about black people? Is there gonna be more of this?".
Soft asses got pulled completely out of the movie because of one sentence spoken by a mobster.
This is for those generations who need to be reminded at every turn that everything is ok and that art cannot physically harm them. A lot of them need the critical thinking to be done for them, or at least they need someone (in this case movie studios) to hold their hands a little bit.
And my cousins definitely think they're on some next level woke shyt
Say what now?this same generation wanted to cancel Ghengis Khan from history books.
Exactly. People will say that there's fear-mongering around protecting the 1st amendment, and maybe there is. But if there's anything worth leaning on the side of over-protection on, it's the 1st amendment. But there is outright censorship too. Huck Finn, Bless Me Ultima, and The Odyssey have all been banned by certain jurisdictions at some point or tried to be. We don't need a blurb to warn us about "out dated attitudes". And content creators don't need to comport with the attitudes of today- whatever those are.
Sure "warnings" about wrong-think are better than outright banning, but they're still wrong.
This right here. This gives me some hope. Whenever people seem outraged over something, I always hope that it's really just a couple hundred people on Twitter, tops, and that most people don't actually think that way. But it's scary that the platform allows for their voices to be so loud. The problem is bored Tweeters will take what’s the equivalent of a Coli joke thread level material and trump it up to be some huge deal and actually try to “cancel” the past.
The comparison of this stupid shyt hereLemme find out brehs watching seasons of sopranos where Tony and his goons murder, steal, and cheat on their wives every episode but lose their shyt when the gang says shyt like "you people" "the blacks"
Unnecessary now or unnecessary then ? Questioning someones man hood was a very real thing in the 80s and 90s. That happened. You cant erase that. There are a lot of unnecessary gay jokes in those movies, so I'd say describing them as having outdated attitudes is very much on point
