I'm not saying films need it but history unlearned will repeat itself.

If some youngster is watching an old movie and hears/sees certain things, they'll think it's ok to do & say.
What type of low level functioning do you think most people have? People watched Mad Men in this modern era and are very aware that those attitudes and behaviors aren’t accepted today. Or do you think some 18 yr old is gonna show up at their new after school job and smoke cigarettes inside and press their female co worker to fukk because they saw it in Mad Men?

People learn behavior from tv/movies and music. "Don't try this at home"

So yeah, there's ALOT of low level function minded ppl in this country who wouldn't know certain things aren't appropriate to say.

and those people get fired from their jobs, suspended from school, or go to jail

there are real life consequences for inappropriate behavior that go a lot further in deterring it than warning people before movies/tv shows

Context is everything. There’s a lot of comedy and shyt we watched that just doesn’t fly now. Just like there was shyt our parents watched that didn’t fly when we were kids. That’s life.

That said, there’s a sensitivity around now when portraying things the way they were. The Godfather has racial slurs because duh. Same with the sopranos or even westerns. Can’t ask for realism and criticize a movie for not being real but then clutch your pearls when they say shyt that’s 1000 percent true to the times.

Rush hour is a bunch of racial jokes. Nonstop lol. And that shyt either works for you now or it doesn’t

yea...people have to realize the difference between art than clearly props up racist ideas or uses them to solely exist as opposed to art showing racism or racist characters

Spike Lee has largely the same Italians from mob movies in his films saying the same racist language

Yeah it's really stupid. Cos probably any film more than a few years old has language and attitudes that are non PC.

I think it's bad to treat people like infants who can't handle anything offensive.
