They're on Burna Boy's head for "appropriating" black American dances and gear

Most likely but you can’t say his sound isn’t unique. Even AA legends say his sound is unique & he has been sampled by a lot of AAs as well.
I never said his sound wasn't unique. I stated that he incorporated African American music into his sound, specifically Jazz, Funk and R&B. I don't get upset by that. It is a form of flattery. My problem is when people don't know the root of a music.

It’s very cringe once diaspora wars go public, when ‘ADOS’ start getting petty and desperate for credit.

I would prefer he stop the sampling also. Bc Afrobeats is already a wave. Doesn’t need rap. Mfers are hurt—-bc rap isn’t selling—- so now they gonna start itemizing

It’s silly bc there’s too much shyt in black culture that doesnt have ‘ADOS’ origins if we wanna start being petty. Even rap itself ain’t ADOS :pachaha:we did just celebrate the 50th of hip hop going by the date of Kool Herc’s party didnt we?:wtf:

Or, Wait for You was one of the biggest rap songs in recent years sampling Tems wasn’t it….and actually Future is a real ‘different’ lookin mfer so I did a quick search:

Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn was born in Atlanta, Georgia of Haitian parents.

I agree.

I don’t disagree with the assertion about Fela’s influences. Even Fela alluded to being heavily influenced by AAs & he was running around with Black Panther Party members in the US during his short sojourn there. Heck, it was a BPP member who advised him to return to Nigeria & start a similar movement via his music.

I was just against the notion that he copied/lifted AA music wholly like Burna Boy is doing now. His sound was very complex & unique but he was heavily influenced by AA music.

Future isn't Haitian and rap streaming consumption has only gone up according to Billboard.

Those aren’t Timbs - they’re LV boots.

A pair of those boots would buy 20 new Timbs & probably 30-40 Timbs when they’re on sale.
