Ownership basically said they’re not spending, so at best we’re a year away from competing. Probably two years, since Gimenez ETA is 2020.

DeGrom is 30, why try to compete with him 2 or 3 years from now, when he’ll likely be out of his prime? Trade him, stock up the farm, and let Jake spend the rest of his prime on a winning team.

Found the Santana no hitter on YouTube. I'm up to the 7 inning after Baxter hurt himself. I don't know why I went looking in the first place

Food for thought. Terry takes Santana out after 100ish pitches as was the original plan and Santana manages to finish the year healthy and doesn't destroy his arm. Would Santana at 36 play the bartolo role and be the mentor for the 2015 staff as they make it to the world series? I wonder how that year plays out with Santana instead of bartolo

It wasn't the no no that hurt him. It was a few starts later where he hurt his ankle covering first but continued to pitch for a few starts and over compensated because he couldn't land correctly. That said if he never got hurt I don't think he would have made it to 15, him going down seemed like it was inevitable no matter what happened
