One move they should make is trying to get realmuto. It's time to ditch Mr. Glass.

Then sign Manny and throw Rosario at whatever position Manny doesn't wanna play. That'll fix the offense and then they could work on the pen since the stayings staff is straight

Unlike previous searches, I didn't even bother monitoring this GM search since I was sure that I wasn't gonna be pleased with the choice as long as the Wilpons were still in charge. Unless this dude can get the Coupons to stop running this franchise like a mom and pop organization, we're still gonna suck. I need someone with strong player development. I look at all these teams, especially the Dodgers, that STAY calling up dudes and having them produce. Last year, Bellinger comes up and produces. This year, Max Muncy comes out of nowhere and mashes. That's gotta be strong player development resources. We ain't got that.

Earlier this year the Mets were getting hammered for how unready the younger players were, from top to bottom the organization is ran like a joke.

My dream is for Jim Dolan to buy the team. He got into trouble with the Knicks because with only five players, anyone can think that you add Player X and everything is all good. Which is probably why he always meddled. He doesn't run the Rangers like that, he seems to stay out the way and let the hockey folks handle business. Since baseball has a lot of variables too, I would imagine he would stay out the way and hire a competent front office, giving them what they need, like good scouting, analytics, player development. My initial dream had been for Mark Cuban to buy the franchise, but it seems the other owners don't want no smoke with him.

If we can manage to bring in Manny, then I'm ok including Rosario for Realmutto. Manny wants to play SS. There's nowhere else to put Rosario..

How much would Moustaskas want to play 3rd? Isn't he on a 1 year deal?

Its funny how I'm more excited at the possibilities for our Mets, than our actual season. :shaq2:

ESPN.com: Sources: Cubs open to moving 3B Bryant in trade.
Chicago Cubs open to trading 3B Kris Bryant

Trade for Bryant, sign Miller and one of the other free agent closers, and go for Manny. That'll cover all the holes and we'll be good to compete with any of the top tier teams.

The new guy could prove he wasn't lying in his interview when he told the wilpons they could win immediately.

If Alonso opens the season as the starter at 1B and is actually given proper time to settle in there at the major league level, I'll be pretty happy in the grand scheme of things. :yeshrug:

More proactively I'd say we need to at least sign 1 top reliever (Miller/Britton/Kimbrel) and 1 complimentary piece(Marwin/Lowrie).

Also is it just me, or can anyone else envision a situation where both Dom Smith and Alonso play roles with the Mets? It doesn't help that both are pretty much anchored at that one position, but I believe if they are both sound on defense while capable of producing offensively, it can lead to wins.
