Baseball is the ultimate team sport. Goes 8 IP, has 10Ks and allows two earned runs, yet gets the loss again because of two defensive misplays.

Oh and of course, I hope Cespedes gets the surgery. I wouldn't trust the Mets front office or ownership. I'd pull a Beltran.

He was... but once Gonzalez was DFA'd you put Smith there every single day. Don't put him in LF, put him at 1B and if as an organization you are that down on him, let him sink or swim. But give him the opportunity.
The organization seems to think much less of him than before tho. He'll probably be competing with Alonso but your point stands. They need to give both playing time and having Smith in the OF seems dumb considering his reputation of being a good defensive 1B.
My guess: 1-2 relief prospects (#15-20 from that teams top prospects) + international bonus money.Wonder what we get for Cabrera

The organization has been down on him since last year. I agree they need to let him sink or swim at 1B. But they clearly dont believe in him enough to even try. Especially with they year we're having might as see what you have.
