I'm not sure I 100% agree with that. Could it be a factor? Maybe. But I do think the recurring incompetence of management and ownership plays a bigger role in why athletes don't want to come here

The Atlanta Hawks are searching for new general manager after placing Wes Wilcox into a new role earlier this month.

According to The Vertical, Chauncey Billups is under consideration for the team’s vacant GM position.

Atlanta is considering a number of candidates, including Griffin, Joe Dumars, Houston vice president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas, and New York Knicks director of player personnel Mark Hughes, sources said.



Atlanta is also planning to discuss the GM opening with television analysts and former players Chauncey Billups and Brent Barry, league sources told The Vertical.

i like Chauncey as a player and even on ESPN, but I'm not sold on him running my basketball operations as his FIRST job. It's shyt like this that makes you wonder what the hell were doing as an organization and wtf Ressler is doing

Well apparently they want a player gm because they want whoever comes in to have some clout with dwight. They want somebody to get him in check if they can't move him. Apparently when he got ejected in Boston, Malik rose was the only one who had the balls to berate dwight after that game.

Also, the front office wants bazemore gone because they don't want to pay somebody that much to come off the bench.
