man i look more watered down than most of the ones that deny their blackness..
Regardless, it's the reasons behind the denial that is the problem.
I associate myself with a mixture of the people who do the positive things I grew up with, my education level, and how I live. I don't just hang with somebody because we come from the same place. That was some h.s. shyt.
I understand why people do what they do, but if you know you need help in this world to make it, why isolate yourself, and make it harder to make it, when you can mingle with others who have been here longer, and can tell you what to look out for so you can make it?. I understand believing white is right playing a part, but god gave you some common sense, why not use it?. If you had the courage, and knowledge, to leave your country for something better, why not use it when you get here?.

I was born in florida and have been to haiti where my parents were born about 8 times. I consider myself Haitian and black, granted there are a lot of Europeans and some caucasians in my family line. I'm pretty light skinned and wouldn't strike you as being Haitian off first impression and even when I tell people I'm black they usually retort with something along the lines of "you're not really black though" because of the way I talk and who I hang out with lol.

from me. They're not doing anything to me, let them hate themselves or let them be what they think they are. Only thing that bothers me are Haitians that think they can put down other blacks because of a glorious history of being the first to inspire rebellion and help put an end to slavery in the Western hemisphere. That's not a good look. Black shouldn't have tiers.

Then what are you? A dark Indian? I mean if you got Afro features, you're a black person in my eyes.
This is why I stay away from race talk shyt is complex when it really shouldn't be. My mother is what you call a "grimelle" (Haitian redbones) she still considers herself black. My whole fam don't play that game. Some of them don't like the AA term but they still consider themselves black folk.
