Republicans did not pack the court with Garland, they just refused to consider him with their senate majority.

The "free speech" thing goes both ways.

While GOP legislatures are doing anti lgbt laws the Democrat controlled ones pass protections regularly but that's not newsworthy.

What's funny is that Republicans view Pelosi and even Schumer as ruthless operatives who stop at nothing to pass their agenda while they see McCarthy and McConnell as pussies.

generally you are right but voting rights is the one issue where it makes no sense for them not to fight because

Half of Americans Don’t Vote. What Are They Thinking?

Another way to look at it is the reason why close to half of the US eligible voters do not vote is because dems
have never tried the bold and brazen method. there's a lot of disenfranchised people in the US that have zero confidence or faith in both parties i.e republicans don't cater to the issue they care about and dems, while they pay lip service to it, lack the courage and fight to get it done.

So even if you lose a few surburbian, pearl clutching wine moms, you gain several million more new voters which leads to net positive gain.

The only thing donors care about are gay rights because many of them are gay and rich. THe other shyt don't matter. There has been no legislative movement on abortion rights, voter rights and others.
