Mandela and the black presidents have been nothing but figure heads. Black people in South Africa are still suffering economically. Same with Egypt. Mrs. Harris needs to be honest and upfront about her lineage -- and represent who she is. She has stated she is "American" -- she also has said she's Indian-American.

Again - her ethnicity is not African-American/Black American -- and that's OK.

Her father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian. She is both Jamaican/black and Indian American since she was born in the states. She is not passing for any bodies white. So I don't understand the point of challenging her "Black Americaness". Just to clarify I call ADOS African Americans and I call our brothers and sisters from Africa/Caribbean/South America who were born or live here Black Americans.
