There's a long term plan with this happy-go-lucky Punk stuff, right?

Y’all ADD mu fukkas always want shyt right away. There’s more than enough going on to satisfied with at the moment. Let him ride the wave until it takes its course. He knows what he’s doing. :childplease:

Dude working with up and coming talent, giving them shine, and y’all want an instant feud with big names. :shaq2:

He DOES NOT need to turn heel

mfer is the most over face in the company

he needs a big feud
all this midcard shyt ain't cuttin it
He actually does tbh. There's too many top faces between Danielson, Page and Moxley.

It would actually make more sense storywise for him and Cody to turn heel for the faces to be underdogs.

He could build his accolades cheapskating the rookies on the undercard to get off ring rust like MJF.

He started off heel in the E.

Considering wins and losses matter more in AEW, you can easily run an angle were Punk gets frustrated after losing 2 matches in a row against up and coming guys. He's clearly very self aware this happy go lucky "do what Rock did in 2012" version of him has an end date.

I don't agree they have to rush him though. Let dude have his fun for now. When it's time for a real angle and were he can get creative with character work and feuds, then you pull the trigger :yeshrug:

i think AEW has this idea where they know EXACTLY what the fans want...and they also know its predictable to give them exactly that up front...so they subvert your expectations and slowly make their way back to the obvious destination...

they already (successfully) did this with the entire Elite...when AEW started we assumed Kenny/Cody would be immediate champs and Young Bucks would be the only tag champs forever..and they purposely had Kenny in a tag team and losing big matches....purposely had the Bucks losing to Private Party & shyt like that....then they slowly made their way to those people being champions (minus Cody which is still bubbling).....

it's off-putting at first...but its not always gonna be a perfect outcome like Danielson vs Omega straight out the gate...

one thing i do like is it gives us something to look forward to. if Punk comes out and immediately destroys all the top guys then whats left for next year and the year after that?

Revenge from those he beat...lol.
