There is not a single rapper who fell off harder than Nas in the history of hiphop (Sage Francis)

Stillmatic, Lost Tapes and God's Son is one of the greatest 1-2-3 punches in hip hop history...99-02 is probably my favorite overall Nas era tho, even if Illmatic and IWW are more classic...the ups and downs of that 99-02 era almost make his career more compelling because of the comeback/underdog aspect and the ups and downs with the I Am bootlegging, Nastradamus and then the return

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
I remember when ug was really poppin i tried putting my boy on mf doom. Can ox. Non phixion

The next year for him it was all atmosphere (respectable) anticon and sate francis. These guys really but the ughh in underground hip hop forreal. UGHH.. i failed as a sensei to say the least. Felt like luke when kylo brought the house down.

Cram a thousand words into 16 bars = lyrical to these types. Dude got his own thing thats all the props i give em tho. I honestly thought id never have a convo about sage francis ever again

not too different from my list. Cube is one of my fav rappers but you can't argue Nas fell off while putting Cube at number 1. I'm a big Cube fan and he definitely fell off :mjlol:

I said It was written was that. Because his rapping on that album is out of this world. No other rapper has gotten in that zone in my opinion. It doesn't mean he fell off. He touched a peak that was unheard of is more like it. Honestly to me it sounds like you haven't paid attention to his music much same with Sage... He admitted he never even took in It was written like that and dismisses everything after. Obviously he isn't coming from an INFORMED point of view. It's that simple.

The irony is that they are in the same league but different divisions. For a reason. Sage can't find the same kind of audience because he isn't as gifted and not even close. Imagine some b-league NBA player telling Curry he trash and people cosigning it? Shyt is beyond retarded :dead:

If you kept reading his tweets he made some personal attacks at Nas so obviously this isn't about purely being critical of music. Don't defend clowns.

I didn't bother looking at his tweets until you mentioned he said something personal. Looks like he says Nas turned out to be a "piece of shyt human". Which is debatable and subjective depending on who you believe, but I'm not god and not eating up everything Cormega,Carmen and Kelis have to say. Nas silence and their determination, doesn't mean Nas is guilty. But as far as what he's mostly saying from a non personal level,is exactly what I said, and he defended Cube before I needed to.I'm liking what this guy is saying here.

"A quick drop off from messiah to meh. Cube can still be Cube. Nas hasn't shown the ability to do what put him on top for decades now. It's not an argument I want to have for every day of my life, so I'll start ignoring the issue again soon. Ha. Happy to vent for now."

He is absolutley right,Cube can still be Cube as we saw with Laugh Now Cry Later. I still see flashes of great Cube and what made Cube great. What made Cube great is not the same thing as what made Nas great. What made Nas great was technical ability and technical ability alone. You can't say the same for Cube or for Jay-Z as a matter of fact, who didn't gain steam based on being a top lyricist. Jay made headway from being one of the slickest rappers in the game,he still does that well. Plus his albums he wants to be good are,the albums that he wants to perform commercially, and are made for money grabs, haven't been so lucky.

and btw, when you factor in Cubes group work,I think he had a stronger run then you are giving him credit for.

But as I said, his opinion seems like it would hold more accurate for those who hold Nas in high esteem like that. I never in life looked at,or thought of Nas as a messiah of any sort in hiphop. But people do speak of him in that fashion, and for them I would say the fall off should be glaring, both techncially and musically, which includes beats.

Anyway something about opinions are like a$$holes, and nobody cares about this a$$hole's opinion
that's what I mean they both rappers and he's calling out someone who he has never gotten close to.

this is Kwame Brown saying Michael fell off on the Wizards type hilarious...
