According to the comment section of that trailer video, there not filming this show in L.A, its being filmed in Vancouver (Too expensive to film in L.A).

Vancouver's looks similar to L.A so it shouldn't be that big of a deal :manny:

I mean TWD story is in the DMV now but its still filmed in Georgia :ehh:

3. Fear the Walking Dead :Outbreak Buzz kill

if you wanted to know how the zombie outbreak began, you won't. "[Learning the origins] is not the priority inWalking Dead; that's not the priority inFear The Walking Dead," Kirkman said, according to Mashable. "Every other story deals with that stuff and we're concerned about the heart." He knows the story, but he's never written it down — that's how unimportant the very beginnings of the series are to him. "It's not about fixing this world, and it's not about learning what the cause is," he added.

4. Fear-TWD Overlap

Kirkman said the show will take viewers "back to a timid time when the walking dead were more dangerous and more of an ever present threat," according to Mashable. It sounds like this show will have a focus that's much more centered on the walkers, and it's "possible the people we're following on this show are a little more deadly." Fear will also be a stand-alone series, and it's "not a prequel in that at the end of the series Rick will wake up from his coma." In fact, there will be some timeline overlap.

That doesn't explain anything.

Yeah....thats kinda where I have to get off of this train. I'm cool with the characters in the original TWD series not really knowing anything. How could they? They aren't scientists. The most they could know is what they observe and even the guy at the CDC didn't know much. So I'm cool with them plodding along aimlessly trying to find their place in the world infested by this disease that brings the dead back to life.

I was HOPING, and I'll admit it's my fault for doing that, that any new series would explore the origins, the cause and the cure. Not saying that they necessarily had to find a cure, or patient zero, or whatever else. But I figured they were making a spinoff in order to explore the avenues that they couldn't explore in the original series. I THOUGHT, again.....my fault, that whoever the story was centered around, they'd have some idea of how things began and were actively working with their own survival group to do what they could for humanity. They would have their own adventures due to their different location and purpose, yet still run into some of the same pitfalls both physically and psychologically that Rick's group does. Based on the quoted piece, it seems that in this spinoff, the characters are just as clueless as Rick Grimes and company and it's just another group in another location with the same problems. And if that really is the case, that sounds like simply a money grab. My enthusiasm for the show has officially waned. I'll pass.

how interesting could learning what the cause is be though? its either a random virus that nature just cooked up, or it was made in a lab at a military site and got out by accident. then its just another story about scientists finding clues and figuring out the cause and treating it. sounds a lot more boring than exploring how the survivors live and adapt physically, emotionally, and socially in this new world.
