now you see how easy this could have been if you just answered when I asked you

because at the end of the day, that is what you really needed to say and that is what you are saying now and this is what you are ultimately (cryptically) debating. And the two researchers I posted squarely disagree with you and that is fine, given that the court is still somewhat out on what consciousness is (though it seems only the practical definition is debatable)
I for one side with their theory, given what I have learned thus far about functional and comparative neuroanatomy
actually, you could have read that in my original post. this was truly a waste of my time

Those aren't analogous at all :snoop:

Replacing a limb, which is part of the peripheral system, is not the same as putting a brain in a new body, which is part of the central nervous system.

really good film for its modest fare with some fantastic GITS moments visually and script wise
great scope
(this could be a series of big screen movies)
great execution
the cinematography, robotic design and "makeup" are generally well executed with some moments of pure genius
a few plot lines are left open or rushed and it is almost too short in duration with no sequel overtly set up or intimated (and one is certainly desired by this author).
The acting is good as well, I especially liked the tone and gravitas emoted by the male lead.
