So basically we're gonna be watching SEC football playoffs?
true there will be 2 more "meaningful" games
16 is the only way to do it. 11 conference champs and 5 at large. But they'll complain of "waaaaa Finals exams" when completely ignoring the fact that FCS/I-AA has done it for decades with no problem.
There isn't a market to sustain that type of ticket sales breh. Stadium attendance would be
yea i always said that the BCS wasnt that bad. a playoff will have the same issues as the current system. might as well leave it alone but people want a playoff even tho they dont have the foresight to see the problems that will arise
That doesn't make sense. People were already going to go to the bowl games, which the semifinals will replace. You'll have fans & casual fans fill up stadiums for both semifinals games & the championship game, just like they do for The Final Four.
I don't see how conference championship games become pointless. If anything they'll bolster the bid for a team to be in the top 4 if they win their conference.
It's funny that y'all are crying about college football finally putting together a playoff system after years of crying for one. This new system is a win-win for the sport & it's fans. A champion will be determined on the field, not by a computer. Stop crying

So what is the point of the conference title games now????
Leagues rescheduled their entire seasons over conference title games to avoid controversy and get proper auto bcs bids
But what's the point now?
I'd rather be an 11-1 conference "third place" team than and 10-2 conference winner
If michigan is 11-1 faces Penn State is 10-2, and ohio state is 11-1 with only loss to michigan....and penn state wins...do all 3 of these 11 win teams get fukked?
Last year, let's say georgia had beat LSU in a thriller. So georgia is 11-2 and sec champ...lsu is 12-1, alabama is 11-1, and arkansas is 11-2 with only losses to lsu and bama. the other OSU, stanford, are also 1 loss.
You really think okst and stanford will both get the nod???
Nothing is settled on the field, and its even worse now.

I really dont see what cfb has to lose as if its a great system now..
You purists argument that every game will have less meaing already went out the window this year with Lsu and Alabama..
Now youre on to conference championship games being of les meaning when theyres already tons of meaningless ones..
None of these arguments warrant keeping the system as is..
who said this? if people were pissed about a rematch this season it's more likely to happen in a playoff.
and Gizzle made a good point about conference title games.

Did Vtech and Clemson really mean anything in the scheme of things? how can it get any less meaningful?
1. not all teams travel well. 2. i dont know the time frame which playoff games gonna happen but i imagine 2 weeks so youre gonna have fans fly from one coast to another in a matter of a week on short notice plus a place to stay plus tickets. thats a lot of money dog for two games. 3. it's not settled on the field it's settled by people choosing who gets in. they basically replaced the computer with people. 4. conference champ games will bolster a team depending where they rank and who wins. 11-1 team loses to 9-3 team and they dont have a better record than 2 other schools and is tied with another school from a lesser conference but is a champ who gets in? same predicament we've had with the bcs cept now people pick
