brehs jeb is not winning anything with his stance moderates stance on immigration. the fact that donald trump has a 2 to 1 lead right now should tell you just how xenophobic republicans are against hispanics (illegal or not). they're ignoring everything about donald's past when it comes to family values, religion, social issues...you know stuff that usually gets a republican killed in the primaries..b/c immigration is going to dominate this election cycle. white folks finally woke up and realized they're going to lose the majority in this country in the next two centuries if they don't do something distract right now on that front.

You realize a good chunk of those people voting for Trump in the polls won't actually vote for him or won't vote at all? Nate Silver has some pretty solid stats on his website regarding this. Unless Trump starts to get in the high 30's or 40%, his numbers are all smoke and mirrors.

The interesting thing is both the left and the right are fed up with business as usual in politics. However, with all emotions flowing poor/middle class people don't come together because of racial bias and ego. Unless that somehow changes, don't expect Trump or Sanders to win their party nominations.

Someone mentioned earlier about Jebs war chest. Don't underestimate the power of money in elections. So far Jeb has just been laying low. I think it's better for him that Trump is in the lead do people do t focus on him until it's showtime. In the meantime, I think he just needs to polish his debate game and I think he will be fine.

But this is about the general election, and in order to take the country you have to take the moderates. You can say all kinds of wacky shyt in primary season because it's controlled by the extremists, but no one is winning the general election without a decent support from hispanics, and the RNC knows this. The white supremacists aren't electing anybody. Jeb is playing the long con. Romney did the same thing in 2012. You had Bachman, Perry, Cain and Santorum all sucking up oxygen during the early stages of the primaries because the only people paying attention were the fanatics. Romney tried to stick to the middle so he could appeal to moderates when he won the nomination, but he was dragged to the right by the increasingly practical threat of losing the nomination. The RNC is trying to avoid a repeat of that, which is why Trump is a devastating wildcard.

Little off topic; I think the "blue wall" of electoral states is overplayed a bit. It's not gonna take much to get turnout for democrats down enough in states like Iowa, Virginia, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Florida for a republican to win. A negatively viewed candidate like Hiliary's vs a GOP candidate who soft sells social issues, like John Kasich, could win those states.

The losing culture war really is an opportunity for the GOP I think. Democrats have defined themselves on social issues for so long that they're economic talking points are thin. A republican who can avoid saying dumb shyt about women, gays, blacks, Hispanics, is a real contender.
this is why i think kasich would have the best chance of winning a general election. hed never get nominated though

I was shocked at how little momentum Kasich got from the first debate. With the way the talking heads were trying to pump him up I expected him to get some type of bump but he is just as big a non-factor as he was before the debate.

Agreed. He's catching a little hype from his debate performance but I expect him to get booed off the stage if he says that same "help the poor, respect the supreme courts decision and gay people" ish at a debate in tea party country

his numbers have improved but i agree with you, the lack of coverage hes gotten after the debate has really limited his exposure

Its like the media decided that Carly Fiorina is a better story and have decided that if they were gonna focus on anyone after debate night it would be her.

I think yall underestimate Jeb's strength in regard to his war chest here. He stays viable nationally, wait until caucus time. He can drop negatives on each and every one of these cats.

Rand Paul got sound bites for days that'll hurt him, Fiorina laid off 30,000 hard working Americans, Rubio isn't ready for prime time(water anyone?), Ted Cruz is all bluster and can't win, Scott walkers Wisconsin is a mess, John Kasich supports the welfare queens and Obamacare, Christies jersey is a hell hole, Ben Carson aborted babies(close enough), etc etc

He can saturate every spot forever basically. He's got good metrics from Florida, he can play his electability up via his wife and fluency in Spanish. Plus the way the primaries are set up now it leaves next to no time once they get started to debunk attack ads. shyt sets up nicely

When the best thing you can say about a candidate is...he has more money to spend than everyone else...that is not good...

Jeb should have run away with the GOP nomination out the gate and he can't even keep up with a guy who said all hispanic immigrants are rapist and murderers, then flipped that into running with immigration reform

They can't use this excuse now

It's crazy how Obama criticism has subsided from every angle
Are you not paying attention to the GOP Primary Candidates? All they do is talk about how awful Obama is in between saying Hillary should lose because she'd just be a 3rd Obama term.
