Yes I think I’ll be very comfortable. Honestly I could survive off of my retirement pay I receive now but I still work because shyt I’m still young. I plan on being retired from this job again.

The TSP (401K) is :sadcam:but I’m going to be able to double up what I used to put into it and get the matching dollar amount up to 3% and 50cents on the dollar afterwards up to 5% matching.

But if it’s a crisis it’s not from retired military personnel.

Not sure I want to retire, if I can be old and work I will. A family member is in his 80s and still makes 6 figures as a consultant for the SBA
Not sure how realistic an expectation that is but hopefully it's possible in 40-50 yrs, just have to find a niche and build relationships like he did

I've been investing and earning good salary for over 15 yrs, a millionaire on paper but the current volatility in the market is turning me off despite a decade plus bull market benefiting me. I want to add more real estate to my portfolio, my goal is to add another investment property in 2023 and have ten total by age 50

Is it really a crisis or something the media labels as a crisis.
somewhere between 40 to 60% of people can't afford to pay their bills and other expenses in retirement.

if that's not a crisis, i don't know what is
Also for the brehs thinking of investing in foreign countries the game is not as easy as is told. Its hard work. You can't just rely on people you know you got to be hands on. Im lucky i have family/friends that I can trust with their own money and interest. There are a lot of leeches in the way and also you got to learn to deal with temptations and vices and the law there too. There are many ways you could get screwed. I seen it happen myself to a few good people that got screwed over. Most of the time by not controlling themselves around pretty women either them or the person they left in charge.
yeah, unless you go to see the spot you're building or buying. everyone and they mama will eat off you for years

what if mexico/dr/colombia etc. become more expensive to live in because boomers buy property and retire there before y'all :patrice:

This is already happening in DR.

The good thing is expats or foreigners only live in the coastal areas so it’ll slow the stem flow of new arrivals. Most aren’t relocating/can’t into the interior because it’s not English only friendly

A new construction in Gurabo Santiago will run you 225k or more and the mortgage lending here is completely different. Most just deal with leveraging assets in their home country or cash.

With that said I’ll be retired by the age of 48 (14 years). We’ll fully rent out our apartment in Santo Domingo. Sell our home in Santiago and move further inland

Retirement is cool on paper, statistically people die within a decade of retirement most won’t speak on that though
The older you get, the more you realize why this is. So many people don't have anything else really going on to strive for outside of work.

I ain't mad at older folks working. I used to be like retirement should be on their radar, but unless they have a plan for it, just sitting around binge watching shyt and being bored every day is not the wave.

Exactly. I’m not saying retirement is bad, like you said you just need a set plan on what you plan on doing for the rest of your life besides just basically existing. Whether it’s traveling the world or starting a business you’re passionate about I don’t see retirement being ideal for most. I’ve heard elders tell me that it keeps them young to still be working

Seen it happend live brah a friend of mine's brother betrayed him and was fleecing him for years a married serious man with 5 kids and a wife got turned out by a young biddy got her pregnant and he had a whole secret family with shorty he was taking care of. Of the proceeds he had of his brothers business. It was a Bar night club. Too much temptation in that environment. That alone let me know you got to be active and watchful in business specially overseas in a land of temptation and debauchery. And thats just one story I got dozens from all my latin friends growing up. Funny thing is most of the time the people doing the embezzlement always end up more fukked up than the person they stole from.
